86. Pregnant with His Baby

Continued...

"I-" I was left sputtering for a moment or two to just process what he just said.

"Cat got your tongue?" he drawled. "Did I catch you off guard, or should I say… caught you red-handed?" his smooth voice urging me to speak with it's implications.

My eyes nearly popped out of my head.

"I WAS NOT UNDRESSING YOU!"

I all but screamed back. I was beginning to feel the warmth of crimson creeping up my cheeks which I wanted to desperately hide from his stare, lest he thinks I am embarrassed.

"Really, then what were you doing?" Dracken sounded as if he was mildly amused by the track this conversation was taking or he was leading it to.

I watched as he lazily shoved his hands in his pockets tilting his head lopsided.

"Nothing. I wasn't doing anything to your clothes in my head- ugh!" I groaned holding my head, this is not going well at all.

I don't know what the hell am I spouting from my stupid mouth anymore.

I could swear when I removed the hand from my eyes I saw the small remnants of a tilt on the left corner of his lips before it quickly dipped to match his other counterpart. Tight and flat, occasionally scowling

I released a sigh. I am very tired to deal with him right now.

He always gets in my head and messes with it like it's his favorite pass time.

Like it would kill him if, god forbid, he has a normal conversation with me once in a while. I am not even asking for a friendly one, you know.

"I met with Professor Aspen today." I figured it was best to stay with the facts and essentials when it comes to him. Idle chats is not favorable when it's the two of us in the mix.

"What does he want now?" Now gone the minute shifts of amused intrigue from his voice and eyes. He was back to being apathetic and slightly irritated with the way he rasped grumbling out shifting his eyes from me after what felt like infinite.

"Pretty much what he wanted before. He just told me about the quiz this weekend. I stalled him for this one of course but I don't know how long I can do that for." I explained the situation and the reason why I was standing here talking to him for.

He looked back at me and again, I couldn't tell what he was thinking or going to say next.

"Sounds to me like it's your problem, what do you want from me?" he shrugged still looking like he had no care of what goes around him.

He raised a brow at me in question.

"What- Did you clock out the whole time he was talking to the both of us when he was playing match maker and putting us together for tutoring arrangements?" my voice became quite harsh towards the end as I moved the finger between us to emphasis the point.

In hindsight, I should have remained calm.

"No actually." okay so it seems I managed to make him show something on his face.

Annoyance

Dracken bent forward coming face to face with me before hissing.

"I was under the impression that you could handle it considering you were so confidently and vocally negating the idea of me as your tutor."

I scoffed in disbelief.

"Oh like you were all merry accepting about it. If you were, I'm sorry it didn't come through with all the whining and grumbling I had to hear that day."

I huffed folding my arms over my chest. What kind of accounts does he have of that day, I would really like to know. Cause they certainly don't coincide with mine.

Yes I was protesting against him as my tutor but I thought that was also probably the first and the only time that we were seem to be agreeing upon something.

And now he is pretending like I was the only one who hurt his ego or something.

He was looking like he was going to chew me alive and spit me out right there.

"Fine. Since we were both so against it, then why the hell are we talking about it now? Go deal with your problems yourself. I told you before, don't come crying to me, I don't like to help."

He literally shouldered past me to his car and got in while I was still stumbling back trying to find my footing again.

By the time I recovered from it, he was taking off in his car and I was left yelling at him from my spot.

"Hey! This concerns the both of us. I will not pay for the consequences of you running off alone, you coward!" My throat was itchy from yelling after him.

He didn't listen or didn't turn around to acknowledge me and I had half a mind to grab that pebble and chuck it in the direction of his speeding car, this time with purpose.

However a few remaining heads left in the parking lot did turn, giving me weird glances and whispering among themselves.

Oh my god! I better not be a part of another scandal tomorrow. I will loose it if I hear rumors about me being pregnant with his baby.

Gross and abominable.
