The Loan Shark Trouble (pay for your debt or we take your company in exchange for it.)

"Is this how you're going to repay me for all I have done for you?" Hyesun yelled at her boyfriend, who pushed Hyesun lightly as she was about to hug him and talk to him about what she and her mother had been facing in their company.

"You heard me right, Hyesun. I'm going to get married in a few months now to my fiancée. I've been trying to reach you today to have some time to talk about this, but you were too busy with whatever you're busy with."

"It's good you came today, so I won't explain myself to you, so listen to me carefully. Let's break up. I know this is going to be a little hard for you, but I love someone else, and we are marrying soon." Shin Ji-hoon said firmly, looking serious and not smiling.

"What! Is this a joke? Tell me this is a joke, Ji-hoon. How could you? Is this how you want to repay my love, my sacrifices, and all for this relationship?" Hyesun yelled angrily at Ji-hoon, who scoffed and said coldly;

"Hey, stop yelling. And tell me what you have done for me or for the relationship that I am repaying you with? If it's money you spent when my company was facing some problems? Oh, come on, Hyesun, I didn't force you, and besides, every lady does that for the man they love, and we were both in love then." Shin Ji-hoon said shamelessly.

"How could you! I can't believe I was in love with an animal-like human. What about me? About our love?" Hyesun said angrily, fighting back her tears because she would never cry in front of this man.

"Well, nothing to do about that. Your love, not our love. I stopped loving you a long time ago. You were too busy to even notice that. Let me tell you, I don't want to continue loving someone useless. How do you want me to get married to the daughter of a single mother with no good background? You have a lot of problems now, and your mother and your reputation are at stake with all the loans both you and your mother borrowed to save the company, but it's all still the same."

"Who would want to love or marry a woman like that? No man would want that kind of woman with no great background and a bad reputation like you unless you end up with a useless man like you," Shin Ji-hoon said harshly to Hyesun.

Those words were like a knife that stabbed her heart and broke her into pieces.

"You are crazy for saying that. How dare you." Hyesun angrily said, raising her hand to slap Ji-hoon, but he was fast enough to catch her hand. His grip was cold and full of hatred and irritation as he threw Hyesun's hand away, causing her to fall on her butt.

Then a tiny voice spoke from behind where Hyesun fell.

"Hon, you shouldn't stress yourself over this." Ji-hoon's fiancée walked in and stood next to Ji-hoon.

"Hon, you're here," Ji-hoon said and pecked the young lady's lips. She is Koo Min-so, the youngest daughter of the Koo family.

"Yes, sweetheart. I miss you." Koo Min-so said, that both she and Ji-hoon acting lovey-dovey, forgetting Hyesun's presence.

Hyesun watched them one last time before she left, not waiting another minute to see them act that way.

The man she had loved her life, whom she had done so much for and stood by when he needed her the most. When his company was facing bankruptcy and when he was having issues with his family. Now he was the one who betrayed her, giving her the biggest shock of her life.

He broke up with her.

She needed him to be there for her when she needed him, but he betrayed her and broke her heart into many pieces.

Hyesun felt her chest heavy as she walked absentmindedly to her car and drove her way back home.

She got to her room, sat down on her bed, buried her face in her palms, and burst into tears.

Crying out her pain, but the pain was too much to bear.

She cried her eyes out until she fell asleep.

~~~~~~
It was late at night when Mrs. Soo-ah knocked on her daughter's door to call her down for dinner.
Hyesun heard her door being knocked on. She got up from the bed, walked sluggishly to the door, and opened it to see her mom standing there.
"I'm coming; you should go first," she said with a raspy voice while her hair was messy and her face puffy, causing Mrs. Soo-ah to ask worriedly as she saw her face.
"Did you cry?" Mrs. Soo-ah asked, while Hyesun only shook her head and turned back inside, not in the mood to talk, but her mother followed her in.
She sat next to her on the bed and rested her hand on her shoulder.
"I know you cried. You can't lie, not even when all your face is swollen like this." Mrs. Soo-ah said, looking concerned.
Hyesun couldn't bring herself to tell her mom but hugged her and cried on her shoulder until she was okay enough to stop.
"Tell me what happened, sweetie. I'm your mother, and you should tell me whatever is bothering you. Is it because of everything happening?" Mrs. Soo-ah said while Hyesun nodded her head.
She lied, "Yes, Mom. Everything." Hyesun said through tears.
Her mother hugged her, "Oh, come here, dear." Her mother said as she drew her closer to her and hugged her again.
With tears, Mrs. Soo-ah kissed her daughter's hair and patted her back.
"Don't cry." Mrs. Soo-ah said, her voice soft, but one could tell she was about to cry too.
Still hugging her daughter, she kissed her hair again.
"Don't worry; we can give up the company. So don't cry." Mrs. Soo-ah said, causing Hyesun to pull away from her arm and look up at her mother with tears.
"Mom, why did you say that? No, we won't give up the company. I promise we will sort it out without giving up the company. It's your years of hard work, Mom. I won't allow that." Hyesun said through tears, while her mother smiled through tears and shook her head.
"No, we can give up the company. You don't need to push yourself hard. It's nothing. We have no way to clear the debt, so we can just give it up." Mrs. Soo-ah said and wiped her daughter's tears.
"No, Mom, leave this to me, please. I won't let you give up the company, so don't do that." Hyesun said.
"It's okay. The loan shark will come here tomorrow or the day after to ask for the money, and if we fail to pay, then they will claim the company." Mrs. Soo-ah said in tears, while Hyesun hugged her mother and pulled away after some seconds.
"Do you trust me, Mom?" she asked Mrs. Soo-ah, who nodded and sniffed.
"Then trust me in this: we will pay them. Just have to believe in me." Hyesun said while Mrs. Soo-ah nodded to trust her daughter.
She wiped her tears and stood up.
"Come, let's go down to eat." Mrs. Soo-ah said and pulled Hyesun to stand.
"Okay, Mom," Hyesun said and stood up while she used her hands to arrange her hair, then followed her mom to eat in the dining room.
—————
The second day…
Hyesun was on the bed, staring at the card. She was left with no choice.
Nothing she could do.
She sighed as she breathed out heavily and dialed the number on the ID card.
It rang twice before the call was picked up, and then a voice of mockery and arrogance came on the line.
"I didn't know you would call so soon, Ms. Hyesun," the voice said mockingly, as he already knew who was calling him.
Hyesun rolled her eyes as if there were someone with her she was talking to.
"I want to meet and talk." Hyesun simply said.
"I'll be in a meeting soon. You can come to meet me in my villa in the evening when I get back home," the voice, belonging to Han Sung-min, replied.
"How do I get to your house?" Hyesun asked, her voice soft and firm.
"I will send a driver to pick you up." Han Sung-min said and ended the call.
Hyesun sighed. "I don't have any choice but to agree to become his wife. After all, that bastard I thought loved me betrayed me, making me believe there was no real love anywhere.
"It's not bad if I become Mrs. Han," Hyesun said to herself to comfort herself.
She shrugged.
"This is the best decision. I'm not going to regret it, right? Of course not. I'm ready to face any difficulties after this decision as long as I save my mom's company," she thought, making up her mind as she encouraged herself.
In the evening, while preparing and waiting for the driver Mr. Han said he would send to pick her up, Hyesun was in her room when she heard some men's voices downstairs. She frowned.
"What are all those voices about?" she thought as she carried her bag and exited her room to see what was going on downstairs.
She met her mom trying to plead with the loan shark to give her some time to pay him, but the man yelled, raising his voice.
"No, I have reached the point where I need my money. If you don't have the money now, then you should sign this paper to give up your company," he said angrily, and then Hyesun's voice spoke coldly.
"We are going to give you your money tomorrow. As early as tomorrow, you will get your money," Hyesun said coldly, causing the man to sneer.
"As if. I can't wait for another minute to get my money. How do you want to even pay when there is no way for you to pay? I want your company in return for my money you can't pay," the man spat back angrily.
"You are not getting any company in return for our debt. You have to wait until tomorrow, and if we don't pay, you can do whatever you want after." Hyesun said sternly, while the man walked closer to her in anger, poking his finger at Hyesun's forehead rudely.
He scoffed.
"Why are you so arrogant over nothing, huh? You can't even pay now, and you dare talk to me, huh?" the man said, his finger still poking at her forehead, causing Hyesun to fume in anger as she yanked his hand away from her face.
"Don't fucking touch me like that," she said softly but irritably, causing the man to fume in anger and raise his hand to hit her, but it stopped in the air when a cold voice suddenly spoke.
"Let her go," the cold voice said. Everyone could tell the voice was cold and firm, like a command that could cause anyone trouble if disobeyed.
"Who are you?" the loan shark said with a frown as he brought his hand down and turned to the direction from where the voice came.
