Hello, Wife- to-be

"It's pointless to tell you that," the cold voice said as he walked closer to them, causing Hyesun's eyes to widen in shock.

"Mr. Han? What is he doing here?" Hyesun thought, staring at his cold, handsome look.

"Hello, wife-to-be," Han Sung-min said to Hyesun, who was lost in her gaze. Mrs. Soo-ah was confused and turned to look at her daughter to say something, but Hyesun was still in shock at seeing Han Sung-min.

"Mr. Han?" Mrs. Soo-ah called, still shocked and confused.

"Hello, Mrs. Soo-ah," Han Sung-min said with a slight smile. Then he turned to the loan shark, who was now looking shocked and confused.

"Mr. Han?" the loan shark called in surprise.

No one in the country wouldn't know who the Han family is, and no one wouldn't know Han Sung-min. Everyone fears him.

"I guess you know me now?" Han Sung-min asked arrogantly.

"What...what are you doing here, Mr. Han? These people owe me a lot, and we have a deal for them to pay me my money today, but they are refusing to pay me back. I'm sure they are offenders for you to come here to see them. They must have taken a loan from you too," the loan shark said, shooting a death glare at Hyesun annoyingly.

"Do I look like a loan shark to you?" Han Sung-min asked coldly, causing the loan shark to look at him, confused.

"What!" the loan shark asked, looking confused.

"Why would I come here because they took a loan from me? I have come here because she is my wife-to-be," Han Sung-min said coldly. His voice was calm, and his expression remained cold towards the loan shark, who was now looking shocked again.

Mrs. Soo-ah was shocked and pulled her daughter towards her, then pinched her, causing Hyesun to cry softly.

"Ah, Mom," she whispered to her mother with a soft cry.

"What is he saying? Is he okay?" Mrs. Soo-ah whispered back discreetly.

"Huh...well, yes, Mom. He is right," Hyesun nervously said, causing Mrs. Soo-ah to yell in shock.

"What!" Her voice was loud, drawing Han Sung-min's attention, and the loan shark turned to them, more confused.

"Mom," Hyesun pinched her mother's clothes to shut her up.

Han Sung-min shook his head discreetly and turned to the loan shark. He then said sternly, "Tell him how much the loan they took from you, and don't let me see you come here again or threaten them." Han Sung-min coldly said to the loan shark to tell his assistant who was waiting outside how much loan Hyesun's mother took from the man.

Then he walked closer to Mrs. Soo-ah and her daughter, Hyesun.

"Hello, Mother," he said, causing Hyesun and her mother's eyes to widen in shock.

"Mother?" Hyesun repeated, her voice sounding very funny. Her eyes were still wide with shock at how Sung-min had called her mom "Mother."

Mrs. Soo-ah was shocked and blinked, turning to her daughter before she moved her attention back to Sung-min, who forced a smile.

He was new to a situation like this, but to make Hyesun his wife, he needed to accept and respect her mother.

"Yes, Mother. I know you must be in shock, and I don't know if Hyesun has told you about us," Sung-min said again, causing Hyesun to look shocked again as she scoffed.

"Us? Huhh," Hyesun said, her voice raised in surprise.

Mrs. Soo-ah sighed. "Please let us have a seat and talk this out," she said and led Sung-min to the couch while they all took their seats.

Hyesun sat next to her mom while Sung-min sat opposite them.

"So, Mr. Han..." Mrs. Soo-ah didn't complete what she was about to say before Sung-min corrected her.

"Call me Sung-min, Mother," he said with a slight smile, making Mrs. Soo-ah gasp in surprise at his polite attitude.

"Okay. But I'm confused and lost. My daughter didn't tell me anything about having any close relationship with you, than having you as our client when our company was running well," Mrs. Soo-ah said softly while she looked at her daughter, who was avoiding her gaze.

"Oh, so Hyesun didn't tell you anything?" Sung-min said, turning his gaze to Hyesun, who was always shocked whenever he spoke.

It was as if they had a very close relationship when they never had that until he offered her to become his wife.

But right now, to make her mother accept Sung-min's proposal because she had already made up her mind to become Sung-min's wife, and now that he had just cleared off their loan and settled the loan shark, there was nothing else to do or back off, so it was her part to take now.

"Well, I was planning to tell Mom today after I saw you," Hyesun said, her voice low from embarrassment and nervousness.

Hearing that, Mrs. Soo-ah was surprised.

She was surprised that her daughter was truly in a relationship with Han Sung-min, but she never mentioned that to her.

"So are you both telling me you are having a secret relationship without me knowing any of this?" Mrs. Soo-ah said while Hyesun quickly denied it, causing Mrs. Soo-ah to furrow her brows at her in a questioning manner.

"Isn't that what you both are saying? I mean, you both have been seeing each other secretly and now talking about being a wife-to-be," Mrs. Soo-ah asked.

Hyesun sighed.

"Ahh, yes... I mean, yes, we have been seeing each other for a while now, right, Mr. Han?" Hyesun said as she secretly shot Sung-min a glare that meant, "Won't you save me and say anything?"

"Ah, yes, Mother. We have been seeing each other for a while," Sung-min said, trying to make it sound real even though it was just a short time since he had talked to Hyesun about marriage. Still, they never dated or were friendly with each other.

In fact, Hyesun was professional and respected Sung-min as everyone in the state does. And she was lucky to have him as their client.

Sung-min never visited their company except when necessary.

But now he wants to marry her.

Like hell.

What!

"Yes, Mom, I didn't want to let you know, but he proposed to me last month, and I was occupied with work and ways to save our company and pay off the debt," Hyesun said as she made some lies.

"Yes, Mother. She didn't tell me about the matter until I found out yesterday, so I decided to come here myself today and seek your daughter's hand in marriage," Sung-min said while Mrs. Soo-ah was looking at both of them.

Listening to them and searching for any clue if all this was true or not, she couldn't find any clue not to believe them.

"Okay, but Hyesun, do you think it through? Are you both ready for marriage?" Mrs. Soo-ah asked.

She was scared and cared so much for her daughter.

She was scared and didn't want her daughter to be like her. She didn't want her daughter to marry into a family that wouldn't love and accept her.

Hyesun was confused by her mother's questions. She understood her mom was worrying about her but knew she didn't have any choice, so she nodded her head.

"Yes, Mom. I'm sure that I want to become his wife," Hyesun said, her voice calm but confident.

"You know I'm worried about my daughter's well-being. I don't want her to suffer in her matrimonial home and her husband's family problems. Do you think you can take care of my daughter and protect her from any problems?" Mrs. Soo-ah said, looking worried and concerned.

"I promise I will take care of her and protect her from any harm," Sung-min said, looking serious. His voice was cold and firm, causing Hyesun to look at him.

"What's up with him? It's not like he wants to marry me because we love each other. He does not like me, and I don't have any feelings like that towards him too," Hyesun thought and rolled her eyes.

"Out of my experience, I'm scared of my daughter marrying someone with a higher status. But if you are going to keep your promise to be there for her, then I don't have any reason to disapprove of your relationship. And if it's my daughter's happiness and what she wants, then it's fine," Mrs. Soo-ah said and looked at her daughter, who lowered her gaze.

"Don't worry about your daughter's well-being because I will make sure I take good care of her," Sung-min said softly.

"Okay, if that's so, then I want to thank you for your help today. It is so shameful of me that you see this. I..." Mrs. Soo-ah was interrupted by Sung-min.

"Don't mention it, as long as it is for Hyesun, it's fine," Sung-min said calmly, causing Hyesun to stare at him, feeling strange feelings.

"Does this guy talk like this and still keep his calm face like all he said is nothing? Does he even know his words affect people? Oh no, I should be careful. This relationship is not my dream," she thought as she shook her head to shove away the thought.

Mrs. Soo-ah stood up after she had listened to them.

"I should excuse you both to have some talk alone," she said and left for her room upstairs, giving them some privacy.

After Mrs. Soo-ah left, Hyesun glared at Sung-min.

"What is all this, Mr. Han Sung-min? You didn't tell me you would come here," she said angrily as she sat not far from where Sung-min was sitting.

"You don't need to be formal with me; call me Sung-min. You're going to be my wife soon," he said arrogantly, causing Hyesun to scoff in amusement.

"You….what do you think you're doing? Don't be formal. Like seriously?" Hyesun said in amusement while Sung-min crossed his legs as he smirked.
