Mu Tianyang only returned the next morning. Seeing Aunt Zhang tidying up the dining table, he asked, "Wanqing finished eating? Where is she?"
"Miss has already gone to school," Aunt Zhang replied.
Mu Tianyang froze for a moment, then frowned and headed upstairs.
Great! He didn't come home for an entire night, and yet she happily went off to school. He didn't expect her to be jealous; he just wanted to deal with Ding Caiyan…
The new school was a prestigious one for the elite. The moment Wanqing stepped in, she could feel the aura of wealth surrounding her. Everyone seemed to carry a golden shine, each clearly labeled as "rich." But even among the rich, there were the extremely wealthy and the merely well-off, and comparisons naturally followed.
Before class started, the teacher introduced Wanqing to the entire class. When the lesson ended, a girl approached her and asked, "Ding Wanqing, who's your dad?"
Wanqing felt a tinge of annoyance but kept a polite smile. "His name is Ding Zhigang."
"Ding Zhigang…" The girl thought for a moment. "Doesn't ring a bell." In other words, her father wasn't famous, likely just someone with a few million, barely enough to send her to this prestigious school.
"And who's your dad?" Wanqing asked in return.
The girl proudly lifted her chin. "Du Yuanming!" Du Yuanming was a renowned business magnate, even Mu Tianyang had to give him some respect.
Wanqing simply said, "Never heard of him."
"You!" The girl froze, glaring angrily at her. "What did you just say?!"
"Is it strange not to have heard of him?" Wanqing asked, genuinely curious. After all, she wasn't some socialite who attended elite gatherings or needed to know these names.
"You're doing this on purpose!" The girl stood up, grabbed a book from her desk, and swung it at Wanqing. "Ding Wanqing, who do you think you are?!"
"Du Qian, don't do that." Another classmate stopped her. "She's just uncultured. Why stoop to her level?"
"Probably some relative of an employee who got in through connections," someone else added. "Talking to her just lowers your own status."
"Exactly, you're the daughter of Du Yuanming."
Du Qian still felt humiliated, glaring daggers at Wanqing. Wanqing, however, met her gaze with composure, entirely unbothered, as if Du Yuanming was nobody of importance. Du Qian took a deep breath and demanded, "Apologize to me right now!"
"Why should I apologize?"
"When I say apologize, you apologize!"
"Well, well~ Who's causing a scene now?" A voice suddenly came from the front.
Wanqing looked up to see a girl in a white T-shirt, staring at Du Qian with disdain. Du Qian froze, her expression shifting several times before she finally snapped, "None of your business!"
"You're blocking my way," the girl said.
Du Qian stiffened, begrudgingly stepping aside.
Wanqing chuckled inwardly, realizing this girl's father must be even more powerful than Du Yuanming.
As the girl walked past, she remarked, "She's wearing a Vacheron Constantin. Looks like she's worth more than you, Miss Du."
"Show-off!" Du Qian glared at the Vacheron Constantin on Wanqing's wrist.
Wanqing pretended not to hear, lowering her head to read her book.
"Why are you overreacting?" the girl sneered. "It might be fake."
"Mu Tianxue!" Du Qian shouted, "Do you have to go against me all the time?!"
"I feel like it!"
Wanqing suddenly turned her head to look at Mu Tianxue. She had thought the girl seemed familiar earlier. Hearing her name now… Could it be…?
