Chapter 42: Seeking Continued Support!
To be able to kill a Predator Elder, the assailant must either be a formidable prey or present a dangerous situation.
Whether out of interest in powerful prey or curiosity about the threat, the Predators would inevitably come to investigate.
As soon as Chang Wei activated the Predator Elder's ship, communication requests from other Predator vessels poured in.
"Damn it, they came so quickly?"
Chang Wei realized his intelligence might have been incorrect or that there were other variables at play. However, surrender was not an option—who knew what these Predator warriors might do to him?
Without hesitation, Chang Wei activated the ship's weapon systems, buying himself time to initiate a wormhole jump.
But his ship quickly displayed a notification: the weapon systems had been locked, and a higher-level authority had taken over!
"An Ancient Predator has arrived?"
Chang Wei's pupils contracted. A higher authority than the Predator Elder could only belong to either an Ancient Predator or the female Predator guards.
Surely it couldn't be the Predator Queen herself personally leading the expedition—that would be illogical and absurd!
Soon, Chang Wei noticed the ship's internal cameras scanning its interior. He chuckled helplessly.
Several Predator ships surrounded the anomalous vessel, preparing to scan its interior to investigate. Just then, a beam of light pierced through Chang Wei's ship, sweeping across the surrounding Predator vessels.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Even the Predator ships—made of alloys far superior to human materials and capable of interstellar travel and wormhole jumps—were not immune. Without their energy shields activated, they disintegrated and exploded under the onslaught of the light beam.
The Predator crew members inside were naturally killed by the resulting firestorm and shockwave.
The remaining Predator ships immediately retaliated, blowing up the offending vessel.
Chang Wei, however, escaped the explosion with ease.
"Eighty percent of the Blacklight Virus cells were instantly destroyed. The power of nuclear fusion light is immense, but it's prone to overload."
That beam of light was a product of Chang Wei's recent research and innovation—a technique similar to Godzilla's atomic breath or radioactive heat ray, though modeled after the Burning Godzilla version.
According to his vision, the fully developed nuclear fusion beam would surpass hydrogen bombs in energy output. A single shot could penetrate Earth's core, granting him the power to annihilate planets in humanoid form.
For now, however, escaping was the priority.
The Predator warriors did not detect Chang Wei. He managed to particleize his body, escape the explosion, and reassemble himself elsewhere.
This maneuver was risky because his cells were not yet omnipotent; particleizing his body made it difficult to maintain consciousness during reassembly, leaving only instinct to guide him.
If anything went wrong, Chang Wei might remain permanently particleized.
The old Chang Wei wouldn't have dared to attempt such a move, but the current Chang Wei was willing to bet on a fifty-percent chance of success.
The result? Success.
"Now, let's see if I can hijack a ship."
Despite everything, Chang Wei wasn't ready to leave. As long as an opportunity existed, he wouldn't give up.
The Predator warriors, meanwhile, were determined to uncover what had occurred on Earth and what had happened to the "entity" that seemed to have been obliterated in the explosion.
They sent a squad of Predator warriors to the surface for investigation.
This group became Chang Wei's next target, though he wasn't in a hurry to absorb them—his sights were set on the ships still in the sky.
On the ground, under guidance from their ships, the Predator warriors began a "purge."
By this time, Chang Wei had already harvested the Xenomorphs, but those in the deep sea had regrouped and were now making landfall—only to run straight into the Predator warriors.
Equipped with virtually limitless energy plasma shoulder cannons and seasoned combat techniques, the Predators swiftly eradicated the Xenomorph-infested areas they identified.
However, the Xenomorphs had proliferated to such an extent that the situation became dire. The Predators decided to employ the most extreme measures.
At the least, they would evaporate the oceans; at most, they would destroy the planet to prevent the emergence of a second Xenomorph homeworld!
The Predators opted for ocean evaporation.
Their ships dispersed, each heading to a major ocean. Using their energy cannons—capable of penetrating over a thousand meters of ice from orbit—they began firing. Even after atmospheric refraction and energy dissipation, the blasts were precise enough to pierce without destroying the continental shelf.
The Predators' mastery of energy control was astonishing. Scientifically speaking, their displayed power was far from their true limit.
And then, Chang Wei witnessed a display of godlike power—opening the heavens, moving mountains, and filling seas!
