Chapter 20; Red eyes

The next morning, the house was quiet as Alexia had woken up really late, both Zeke and Tyler had left for work and only Ramon was at home. She walked out of her room to find him leaning against the kitchen counter, sipping coffee as he watched her approach. Her steps were hesitant, but her eyes though with dark cirles held a new determination.

“We need to talk,” she said, her voice steady, not beating around the bush.

Ramon raised an eyebrow, setting his mug down. “About?”

“About whatever it is Zeke is dealing with,” she replied, crossing her arms. “I overheard you last night.”

Ramon’s expression didn’t change, his sharp eyes solely fixed on her as if trying to read her. He didn't seem surprised, as if he had already known she was there.

“I don’t care what you think. I’m not leaving Zeke. If staying means I have to fight, then teach me. I’ll do whatever it takes.” she told him
