Although her words were harsh, there was some truth in them.
The wealthy woman's father was Lin Derong, and her sensitive status meant that ordinary people could not just waltz in.
Qin Fei smiled and said, "Think carefully about when your daughter's illness started."
The woman furrowed her brows, pondering for a moment before murmuring, "It does seem to have started when the fish tank appeared."
"And she only cries when she gets close to the fish tank," Qin Fei continued.
"Exactly, exactly! That's true!" The woman clapped her hands in realization.
Just then, the baby in her arms began to wail again.
Qin Fei silently approached the girl.
He gently touched the child's delicate nose and said, "Don't cry, little one; Uncle is here. There's nothing to be afraid of."
Strangely enough, once Qin Fei got closer, the girl stopped crying and even blinked up at him with a smile.
"What's going on?" The woman looked at Qin Fei in astonishment, her disbelief evident.
Qin Fei smiled and said, "I told you, it's an issue with your home's feng shui. If this problem isn't resolved, not only will your daughter's condition not improve, but her life could also be at risk."
In reality, it wasn't as dire as Qin Fei made it sound, but he knew that without making the situation seem serious, the wealthy woman might not grasp the gravity of the problem.
Sure enough, upon hearing this, the woman lost her composure and grasped Qin Fei's hand, saying, "Sir, please come to my house! I promise I won't let you go without compensation!"
"Then let's not waste any more time; let's go," Qin Fei replied with a smile.
"I want to go too!" Su Yu suddenly stood up and said.
She was curious about Qin Fei's methods and wanted to see for herself.
"This is my wife," Qin Fei introduced.
The wealthy woman nodded in agreement, not saying anything further.
After bidding farewell to Shen Gong, Qin Fei got into the car and headed to the Lin family home.
Lin Derong was the second-in-command in Jiang City, a figure of considerable power, yet he lived in a modest apartment complex.
The home was on the first floor, with a small yard in front containing a large wolfdog.
"Be careful; my dog bites," the wealthy woman said with a smile.
Sure enough, as they approached the yard, the wolfdog began barking furiously.
"Shut up!" the woman snapped.
Unfortunately, the dog didn't listen, barking even louder.
Qin Fei turned to look at the dog and met its gaze, his eyes locking onto its pupils.
In that instant, the wolfdog seemed to see a predator and tucked its tail, retreating in fear.
The woman furrowed her brow, looking at Qin Fei with even more confusion.
The trio arrived at the door, and just as they were about to enter, a man with a square jaw stepped out from within.
This man was tall and broad-shouldered, exuding an air of authority with his strong features.
"Dad," the wealthy woman called out upon seeing Lin Derong.
Lin Derong glanced at Qin Fei before asking, "How is it? Is Xiao Wei's illness cured?"
The woman hesitated, saying, "I went to the hospital, but they found nothing. This gentleman suggested it might be a feng shui issue at home, so I wanted to bring him back to check."
Lin Derong's expression shifted, and he glared at Qin Fei, "A young man like you, not studying properly, but dabbling in superstition! You need to get a proper education!"
The wealthy woman quickly defended, "Dad, I didn't believe it at first, but he guessed that we had a fish tank! And Xiao Wei stopped crying when he was near her!"
"And besides, the doctors couldn't find anything; why shouldn't we give this a try?"
"A bunch of quacks! Tomorrow I'll send someone to the hospital to see if they have any qualifications to practice medicine!" Lin Derong said coldly.
He then turned to Qin Fei and said, "While I'm still in a good mood, you'd better leave now, or don't blame me for being rude!"
Qin Fei remained unfazed, smiling, "Mr. Lin, are you going through some troubles lately? Your son-in-law's business has been struggling and is on the brink of bankruptcy, right?"
Lin Derong's expression changed slightly as he coldly asked, "You dare to investigate me?"
"I'm just a commoner; I have no such ability," Qin Fei shook his head. "Your servants, children, and wealth all seem to be surrounded by dark clouds, and your recent feng shui adjustments indicate something has been moved. As for your finance, there appears to be a flicker of light; if I'm not mistaken, you've recently formed a partnership with a businessman in Jiang City, or your son-in-law has some ties with one."
Upon hearing this, Lin Derong's expression darkened further.
Although he was shocked, he refused to admit it, snapping, "Nonsense! If you don't leave now, I'll have you sent to the police station!"
With that, he pulled out his phone to call for help.
Seeing this, the wealthy woman quickly grabbed Qin Fei and urged, "Why don't you just leave? If he really has you arrested, I'd feel guilty!"
Qin Fei shrugged, preparing to leave, when suddenly a voice came from inside the house.
"Lin, what's going on?"
Then, Qin Fei saw Old Master Li walk out of the room.
Lin Derong's expression changed, and he softened slightly, saying, "Old Li, please go to the study and wait for me. I have a fraud here."
"Qin Fei? What are you doing here?" Old Master Li exclaimed upon seeing Qin Fei.
"Old Li," Qin Fei said with a wry smile, "I need to go. Otherwise, Lin will have me arrested."
"Arrest you? What nonsense." Old Master Li chuckled, quickly introducing Qin Fei to Lin Derong. "Lin, this is the Qin Fei I mentioned to you, the one who cured my illness. I wanted to recommend him to you, and I didn't expect to run into him here!"
Lin Derong sized up Qin Fei, his gaze filled with skepticism.
"So, you're Qin Fei? I didn't expect you to be so young." Lin Derong frowned.
"Sun Huadong from Huadong Trade, along with Song Wencheng and others, were all cured by Qin Fei," Old Master Li hurriedly explained. "And it's well known that Old Hao has been married for years without a child."
"Yes, Old Hao's situation has been quite concerning," Lin Derong admitted.
"Now his wife is pregnant! A few days ago, she even mentioned wanting to thank Qin Fei!" Old Master Li laughed heartily.
Hearing this, Lin Derong's expression shifted slightly.
"Well then, let's give him a try," he said reluctantly.
Clearly, Lin Derong still didn't fully trust Qin Fei.
"Mr. Qin, it's nice to see you again," a familiar voice greeted as Qin Fei entered the room.
It was none other than Li Shilan, Old Master Li's granddaughter.
She politely extended her hand, and Qin Fei found himself at a loss for how to respond.
"Hello, I'm Su Yu, Qin Fei's wife," Su Yu quickly interjected, shaking hands with Li Shilan.
"I know, the doctor who isn't very competent," Li Shilan remarked, her tone laced with subtle mockery.
Su Yu's expression soured, feeling a bit offended, but she couldn't retort since the last incident had indeed gone awry.
"Cough, cough, let's quickly check the feng shui," Qin Fei interjected, eager to steer the conversation away.
He turned to the wealthy woman and said, "Please take the child to stand by the fish tank."
"Uh, okay," the woman replied, quickly moving to the fish tank with her baby.
As soon as they approached, the baby began to wail, and the koi in the tank started to thrash about as if trying to leap out of the water.
"Alright, that's enough," Qin Fei said, nodding.
After the woman and her child stepped away, a strange occurrence unfolded.
The fish tank settled down, and the baby stopped crying altogether.
"What just happened?" Lin Derong asked, his mouth agape.
"See, I told you! This gentleman is truly remarkable!" the wealthy woman exclaimed, excitement creeping into her voice.
"This damned fish tank, I'm going to smash it right now!" Lin Derong shouted angrily.
"Wait," Qin Fei raised his hand. "There's no need to destroy such a fine fish; that would be a waste. I have a method that can both heal your granddaughter and keep the fish tank intact."
With that, Qin Fei stepped up to the fish tank.
"Do you have any yellow paper at home?" he asked.
The wealthy woman quickly replied, "Yes, yes, we just burned some during the Qingming Festival; there's plenty left."
"Please write your daughter's birth date and time on the yellow paper and hand it to me," Qin Fei instructed.
Not daring to delay, the woman hurried to fetch the yellow paper from the back room and wrote down the required information as Qin Fei requested.
Holding the yellow paper, Qin Fei began to chant softly. He then used a lighter to set the paper ablaze, letting the ashes fall into the fish tank.
The various fish in the tank swarmed towards the ashes as if they were food, and in no time, the water became clear, completely engulfing the ashes.
"All done," Qin Fei said with a smile. "But I must advise you, your daughter is of the Fire element. Her birth chart is sensitive to water, so having fish is not ideal. The tank's position should also be changed to avoid conflict with the stove, and it's best to keep the number of fish under eight."
"Mr. Lin, your granddaughter should be better now."
The wealthy woman brought her baby to the fish tank, and to everyone's surprise, the baby not only stopped crying but reached out her tiny hands.
"Remarkable!" Lin Derong exclaimed, his mouth agape. "Quickly, check if her temperature has dropped!"
