Chapter Soundtrack: Can't Remember To Forget You By Shakira feat. Rihanna.

AMAYA'S POV

My eyes snapped open with a deep inhale. My head was heavy and my eyes blurry as I looked around. I was in my room, staring at the ceiling. My brows furrowed as I tried to remember why I was here and how I had gotten to my house when the last thing I remembered was getting captured by Light.

My baby.

At that thought, I sat up and placed my hand on my stomach. I rubbed my stomach, praying that my baby was okay after what happened. I still could not believe I had experienced something so otherworldly. It was unreal and blew my mind. The chaos and the animosity were overwhelming.

"What were they and how do they exist?"

I got out of bed and almost stumbled when I got dizzy. Luckily, the dizziness cleared then I rushed over to my computer in the corner. I turned it on and connected to my Wi-Fi then opened my browser. The first thing I searched for was werewolf. Each article I came across looked like fiction, none of it hinted at anything real or about what I had seen.

I took my time with what I was searching on and decided to read what has been published, whether fiction or not. They were all an interesting read but it never gave me any satisfaction. None of them answered my questions. But what made me more bothered was the fact that Light and her henchmen claimed the man that was the father of my child was an enemy to them.

I tried to piece everything together into one. Did they mean that the stranger I met and slept with was the same man who they wanted to hurt me for? Was he one of them and was he the wolf I had seen before I passed out?

I shut down my computer in annoyance and stared into space. Something odd was going on in his town and how I got back here was something I did not understand but whatever it was, I needed to find that man. I needed to see him again to confirm if he was truly the man I slept with and if I had had sex with a half man, half beast.

I swallowed. "I hope not."

The following night, I walked into Club 888 with my eyes set out on Light. I was nervous and scared as I was expecting her to show up after what happened. But ever since I walked into the dressing up, there had been no signs of her, which was a relief.

Another matter on my hand was finding the man. I didn't know if I could call him Maxim but for now, I would. I needed to find Maxim and have him know I was pregnant if he was not aware of it. I needed answers to all my questions. Worse of it all, why did the wolf abandon me?

"Crimson… I don't want to know why you came into work," boss said, walking to my side of the room.

I smiled as I looked up at him. He had an annoyed look on his face as he stared back down at me.

"I told you to stay away from work until you're better, but I can see you're stubborn and I won't say anything again." He waved his hand with a roll of his eyes. "You're up in thirty. Get ready."

I couldn't help but chuckle as he walked off, muttering how stubborn I was and was a great money maker. I shook my head and started on doing my makeup before putting on my lingerie for my dance. By the time I was done, I had five minutes to spare so I did some finishing touches before making my way out of the dressing room.

As I made my way toward the dance area, I wondered if Maxim was here. As much as everything was still shocking to me, I still felt attracted to him. I still wanted to watch him watch me with lust in those beautiful eyes of his. I wanted to feel his gaze and touch again.

I strolled into the club and the men hollered, making sounds of joy at the sight of me. I smiled and raised my hand to wave then struck a pose. A beam of light rayed on me, getting their attention. I bowed slightly then climbed my little stage.

I snapped my fingers and my song for the night started to play. Tonight, I was going to try to not remember my problems and the nightmare I had experienced yesterday.

MAXIM'S POV

I could not think straight.

Ever since yesterday, my head has been filled with the thought of her. The minx who had me hooked onto something I could not understand. I still did not understand what was so special about her that made my soul want her. My soul may want her, but my heart hated her for ruining my life, especially now that I knew she was human. I hated humans with a great passion. They were pathetic, weak, double faced and traitorous and I had fallen into the trap of one.

How I could not smell her before I fucked her still confused me. I could smell every being; werewolves, witches, blood suckers and humans yet I could not smell the disgusting scent human woman exuded.

"She is probably another one of the Dragoni's tricks. I could have sensed her even before you smelt her," my wolf said, and I sighed.

"Can we stop talking about her? She means nothing to me, and I am glad that Helena wiped her memory. She will not remember anything until the day she gives birth to my child. She wouldn't even remember she was pregnant."

A knock on the door of my office in the club reached my ears. I sighed and got up from my seat then made my way to the door. I opened it and saw my beta. He bowed slightly before I let him into the office.

"Can I help you?" I asked as I made my way to my desk. I sat down and picked up the file I had been reading.

"Alpha, I have come with very disappointing news," Stanley said.

"What is it?"

"Alpha… Andrew has some information about the girl."

I pinched my nose in agitation.

"Of course it has to do with her," my wolf said.

"Continue." I was not interested in what he had to say.

"Andrew and the rest of the pack medical department did some reading into humans who are pregnant for wolves, and it is not good."

I raised an eyebrow, feeling curious. I leaned forward on my desk and motioned for Stanley to sit. He immediately did and met my gaze.

"For hundreds of years, there have been only three humans who have carried the children of werewolves and out of the three, only one human survived the childbirth. Well… the third died five days after. All of this happened in 1310, 1630, and 1832. What I am trying to say, Alpha is that the woman will start getting fed on by your heir in the coming weeks and because she is just a mere human, your heir will feed on her blood and flesh from inside out until the third month."

I leaned back in my seat at his words. I started to think over what he had said. If this was true, it would mean she would not live after the third month when my heir was here. It would mean that only my heir would survive, and she would die. Something about it did not make me feel comfortable about it but a bigger part of me did not care. She meant nothing to me after all.

"If that is the case, so shall it be. What is most important to me is my heir. The elders have been bothering me about getting an heir and I finally have one. Whatever happens to the mother is none of my business."

Stanley chuckled. "Alpha… You do not understand. She has to be in our care until that day. She is human and knows nothing about this part of the world. The pregnancy is unlike anything any human has experienced. Your heir will take over her body, and mind. If your heir craves for raw meat like our wolves do, she will consume it… Alpha, Maxim… I know you do not like humans, but she has to be in our sanctuary, or she dies by malnutrition or by the hands of the Dragoni in a vulnerable state."

I hated when Stanley made sense of things. I hated how smart and intelligent he was, but he was my beta for a reason. He was an extra head for me to make decisions with when I could not think of anything. If this was what would happen to the little human, I had to do everything to make sure she was healthy enough to bring my heir into this world.

"If you insist… Where is the girl now?" I asked as I rose to my feet.

"At the eastern branch of the club, Alpha."

We got to the club and as I made my way to the VIP section, I caught sight of her walking onto her stage. I stopped walking, blending into the darkness, watching her. A song started to play, and my eyes took every part of her body in. The dark red lace lingerie she wore made her skin stand out. Her long blonde hair glowed under the light shining down on her. Her long legs moved to the beat of the song and her hands moved around her upper body.

I was entranced by her. Something about her drew me in as her body rolled and was caressed by the music. I focused on how she moved her body to the song, syncing with it, showing off her talent. I watched as she turned around and faced the crowd. Her eyes scanned the room, and I wondered if she was looking for me. It made me smirk.

I smirked more when she began to dance with the pole, moving around and twisting her body. My heart skipped a beat, followed by a flutter when the light dimmed, giving her frame a sensual silhouette. She began to move under the dim light, making her appear like a minx with a dark sorcery that had me feeling captivated.

Memories of her writhing in pleasure, arching and moaning out loud flashed in my head. This woman was something of an addiction ever since the night I took her on the bed. I have brought women to my bed, but she had been different, and it bothered me.

"Why are you feeling this way, Maxim?" My wolf echoed in my head, snapping me out of my trance.
