Chapter 35: The Bridge

Ethan's heart was racing as he sped towards the bridge. He could see the SUV closing in behind them, its occupants determined to catch up.

Alex grabbed onto the back of the motorcycle, his eyes wide with fear. "Ethan, what are you doing?" he yelled.

Ethan didn't answer. He was focused on the bridge ahead, his mind calculating the weight and speed of the motorcycle.

As they hit the bridge, the motorcycle's tires screeched in protest. The bridge creaked and groaned under their weight, but Ethan didn't let up.

He sped across the bridge, the SUV right behind them. But as they reached the middle of the bridge, Ethan heard a loud crack.

The bridge was collapsing.

Ethan gunned the engine, speeding towards the other side. The SUV was too heavy, and it plummeted into the water below.

Ethan and Alex made it to the other side, their hearts pounding with excitement. They pulled over, looking back at the destroyed bridge.

"We made it," Alex said, his voice shaking with relief.

Ethan nodded, grinning. "We sure did."

But as they caught their breath, Ethan's phone buzzed with an incoming message.

It was from an unknown number.

"You may have escaped this time," the message read. "But we'll get you next time."

Ethan's grin faded, replaced by a determined look.

"We'll be ready," he said, his eyes locked on the horizon.

To be continued.
