Chapter 19: Rewards

Chapter 19: Rewards

Harry wasn't really focused or too excited about his five thousand chat point reward. Of course, such a thing would prove useful, but his full attention was on the other rewards, Holy Magic: Curse Removal and Taurus Horn - Modified. The first one was magic with a holy and healing attribute, it came from a different world than Harry's, its description really surprised and cheered Harry up a lot, thinking that all his time was really worth it; not only did it help Remus, he also got two amazing things.

Holy Magic: Curse Removal could be used in several ways. Its effect was to remove curses or purify objects and people cursed by any kind of dark or demonic magic. If he used this magic in some kind of liquid, he could create an Elixir capable of helping cursed people, but he could also use it from his hands, creating a golden glow on them. When he touched the person and concentrated, then he could remove the curses from that person's body. However, magic was not all-powerful, removing a curse would depend on the power of the magic user. Harry could not remove a curse from a person stronger than him.

When Harry received the magic, he used it immediately, watching as his hand became enveloped in a golden aura that emanated a warm and calming sensation. When he concentrated and placed his hand on his scar, he smiled when he felt something move, struggling to stay in place. But, after a few seconds, a dark liquid began to run down the scar, as if it were blood. When the process was finished, a little power was released from the scar before everything returned to normal.

Harry inhaled as he smiled, he could feel his body lighter, as if a huge burden had been lifted from his shoulders and he could now think even clearer than before.

But, after getting up, he smiled as he pulled out the Taurus Horn, a thin, silver-colored gun. This was a Casting Assistant Device, or CAD for short. It is a spell support processor, a machine researched and developed with otherworldly magic engineering. These CADs allow the processing of all the components needed for magic in a single moment. In detail, these devices help speed up the invocation of magic, as well as provide stability.

CADs replace traditional tools such as spell chants, talismans, magic staffs, tomes, hand seals, magic circles, and other traditional methods of invoking magic. But, these devices only worked with otherworldly magic. The reason for its modified state is because it served to cast any magic according to the user's internal energies: all magic, no matter the world, as long as Harry learns it, he can cast it with Taurus Horn.

He was curious about the price of his reward in the shop, so he searched around. When he arrived, he saw two options, the one in his hand and Taurus Horn (normal): the former cost 35,000 CP. But, as for the second one, it was valued at a cost of 100,000 CP. Harry inhaled sharply at that huge price. His first mission only gave him five thousand points, and it was one where he risked his life, no matter how strong he was at the time of the invasion of Konoha, anything could happen in a war and thus, he risked his life.

Harry was shocked by the price! And at the same time, incredibly satisfied!

"I better get inside," Harry smiled before placing Taurus Horn in the back of his pants, hidden by his shirt. When he entered, he found Dumbledore sitting in a chair next to his bed with Remus lying on it, speaking with a small smile, but still with obvious tiredness.

"Looks like you woke up in no time..."

Remus looked behind Dumbledore, smiling a little more strongly.

"Thank you... Harry. I never thought I... would have this chance... hope for a better life."

Harry smiled at him with a soft expression: "You were my father's friend. I know that if you didn't have that curse, you would have had me since I was little and raised me. Until recently... we both never had the best cards in our hands..."

"I'll go back to Hogwarts now that I see everything better... I'll let you two talk in peace," Dumbledore smiled and stood up from the chair. He took a sleeping bag that looked really comfortable and fluffy.

"Will you take that?", Harry asked raising his eyebrows with an amused smile.

"It was a new experience... it's very comfortable too," Dumbledore smiled before disappearing with the sleeping bag he had been using these days.

Harry continued talking to Remus for a while, until he fell completely asleep. He left him be before picking up the glass of werewolf saliva, taking it out of the hunt and burning it, glass and all. He no longer had the need to continue his research, even if it was interesting to do so, he preferred not to.

When he came in, he filled another glass with water and used his holy magic: curse removal on the water, causing the water to have small glowing spots. With that, he left it on the nightstand next to the bed, for Remus to drink when he woke up.

. . .

When Remus woke up the other day, he groaned a little from still feeling pain in his body. Sitting up, he could see the glass of water and immediately took it.

"Lunch will be ready in a few moments, Moony."

Remus looked over to where Harry was cooking, "Thanks... I'm really hungry."

Harry nodded before turning off the heat on the oven and placing Remus's portion of meat on a plate and then on another for himself. When he put it on the table, Remus smiled at how good it looked. The meat looked tender and was accompanied by mashed potatoes, spinach, and a few cherry tomatoes.

"Looks delicious."

Harry smiled with a bit of pride at his cooking skills before grabbing the remote for the television and turning it on to watch some news. Honestly, the television came with the house, as did many other things, such as the fridge, stove, beds, etc. He didn't know how the television could broadcast the country's channels, but he wouldn't complain about that.

"Harry... are you planning on divulging all your research?" Remus asked curiously. He knew of several werewolves in his condition: good people who were dealt a bad hand in life. That's why he wanted to know what Harry would do with his findings.

"I already promised the headmaster that I would publish my findings. But, if I find a cure for transformation, I will simply show the results. I don't want greedy or dangerous people to be able to make a possible cure, that would only harm the good werewolves who are currently suffering," Harry had a cure right now, he already gave it to Remus. But, he wouldn't tell him that and would simply send another elixir with a different appearance than simple water, that way he would think it was the cure and take it without too many problems.

"You're not going to do anything about that anti-magic spell?"

"No...", Harry shook his head. "You more than many others know how greedy people in the Ministry can be, as well as corrupt. Of course, I know that not all of them are like that, but if I created some kind of object that achieved the same thing as my spell, many would buy it to do evil, or they would come to me, demanding the knowledge that I possess."

"You're right...", Remus nodded, now understanding. "A cure for werewolves can pass for a miracle or you would be taken for a genius. On the other hand, an object like the one you say, would attract many wizards to the wrong path; there is also the fact that many others would be scared and feel threatened."

"That's right...", Harry nodded, sighing a little.

Hogwarts, four weeks later

The headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, smiled brightly as he entered the Gryffindor common room. Everyone looked curious and a little surprised, including McGonagall herself, who accompanied the older man. She had only heard that Harry Potter had discovered incredible things and unraveled mysteries of magic, so much so that Cornelius Fudge himself had to grant him a first-degree Order of Merlin.

The man who ran the British Ministry of Magic didn't want to give in, but he had no other choice when Harry's findings had been brought to the ICW by Albus Dumbledore.

"Harry... it's time," Dumbledore seemed overly cheerful, even standing up with a little bounce on his tiptoes.

Harry nodded with serious eyes, but he had a small smile.

"Harry... did something happen?" Hermione decided to ask. She had thought a lot since that time when she spoke to him. She watched him carefully, trying to notice any more changes or unhealthy behaviors. She felt bad doing that, but she didn't want anything bad to happen to him. Her results only made her think more about Harry's life, acknowledging that they had influenced it too much, even creating fictional things that people believed, causing expectations of him to be too high, which caused them to despise him when something bad happened and blame him.

When Hermione finally understood that, she began to strive to regain Harry's friendship. Before the holidays it was mild, but a few weeks ago, when they returned to Hogwarts, was when her results improved and made Harry open up a little more with her.

At this moment, he just smiled mysteriously at her.

"Let's shake up this magical world a little, Hermione," she could only watch her friend's back, and she would find out what happened at breakfast, when the newspapers arrived and there was a big headline with three people standing: Harry in the center with a medal on his chest, Dumbledore on his left side and Remus on his right.

The big headline read:

Harry Potter Receives First Class Order of Merlin: Great Discoveries! Mysteries About Magic Revealed! Cure for Werewolves Discovered!
