chapter 10:The Beast Of Busan

The ground trembled as a monstrous roar echoed through the abandoned streets of Busan.

Kai and Yuna stood ready, their eyes locked on the massive creature before them.

A towering beast, resembling a mutated giant ape, clung to the side of a collapsed skyscraper. Its muscular arms smashed through the concrete, sending debris tumbling to the ground. Its glowing red eyes burned with primal rage.

Its rank?

[ Rank B – Mutant War Ape ]

Kai tightened his grip on his dagger. "This thing is on a whole different level…"

Yuna unsheathed her katana, her aura flaring. "We're taking it down. You ready?"

Kai smirked, his Storm Creation crackling with energy. "Let's go."

Yuna moved first.

She dashed across the wreckage, using the rubble as a platform to propel herself upward. Her katana glowed with energy as she swung down—

"Moonblade Strike!"

A crescent-shaped slash of energy shot toward the beast's chest.

The attack connected, leaving a deep wound—but the ape barely flinched. Instead, it let out an enraged howl, shaking the very air around them.

Meanwhile, Kai analyzed the battlefield.

"I need to restrain it first…"

Kai activated Earth Creation, slamming his hands onto the ground.

Massive stone spikes erupted from the pavement, trapping the monster's legs.

With a burst of speed, Kai launched himself forward, his dagger now coated in electricity.

"Take this!" Kai drove the weapon into the beast's leg—

But its HP barely dropped

Kai's eyes widened. Its defenses are insane!

The Mutant War Ape let out a deafening roar.

With one mighty flex, it shattered the restraints, sending chunks of earth flying.

It raised its foot—

And stomped down toward Kai.

"Kai, MOVE!"Yuna shouted.

Kai barely dodged, rolling out of the way as the impact cracked the pavement, sending a shockwave through the street.

The shockwave shattered windows, sending glass raining down from the nearby buildings.

The two quickly regrouped.

"We can't just attack it blindly!" Yuna panted.

Kai scanned the surroundings, searching for anything they could use. Then—

He spotted a pile of abandoned cars, stacked from the previous chaos.

His eyes lit up with an idea.

"Yuna, keep it distracted!" Kai called.

"Got it!"

Yuna rushed forward again, slashing at the beast's arms and shoulders, dodging its wild swings. She scaled its body, leaving deep gashes in its fur.

The Mutant War Ape roared, shaking violently to throw her off.

Now's my chance.

Kai slammed his hands onto the ground.

Using Earth Creation, he created a massive ramp, launching several wrecked cars into the air—

At the same time, he activated Storm Creation, sending a surge of electricity through the metal.

The result?

A mid-air explosion, sending shrapnel and shockwaves straight into the Mutant War Ape's skull.

BOOM!

The beast staggered, its defenses weakened.

Yuna's eyes widened in admiration. "Nice one, Kai!"

The Mutant War Ape was weakened, but still alive.

"We need to end this!" Kai shouted.

Yuna nodded, gripping her katana.

Her aura flared, a powerful blue glow surrounding her blade.

"One Thousand Night Slash!"

She vanished in a blur—

Then reappeared behind the monster.

A storm of slashes erupted, cutting through the beast's body with unmatched speed.

For a moment—

The Mutant War Apestood still.

Then, its body split apart before fading into to dust.

Kai let out a breath, exhausted but triumphant.

Yuna sheathed her katana and turned to him with a grin.

"You did great, Kai."

Kai smiled back. "Not too bad yourself."

The distant echoes of battle had finally faded.

Kai and Yuna walked through the ruins of Busan, their arms filled with supplies—water, medicine, food, and whatever else they could salvage.

The air was still heavy with the scent of blood and destruction.

Kai held his communicator close to his ear.

"This is Kai. Mission complete. We've secured the supplies."

"Understood. The helicopter is en route. ETA: five minutes."

Yuna let out a relieved sigh. "Finally… We can go back."

Kai nodded, but his mind was still restless. No survivors…

As the helicopter's blades sliced through the air, they boarded, watching the ruined city grow smaller beneath them.

Back at the Daejeon stronghold, the camp was as busy as ever.

Injured soldiers lay on makeshift beds, medics running between them. Armed guards patrolled the area, their eyes scanning for threats.

As soon as Kai and Yuna stepped off the helicopter, a towering figure approached.

It was the big-bodied man from before—his uniform marked with military insignia.

He crossed his arms, looking down at them.

"You two made it back alive," he grunted.

Kai and Yuna nodded, handing over the gathered resources.

He took a quick glance, checking the inventory. "Good. This will help us last a little longer."

But then—he frowned.

"...Survivors?"

Yuna lowered her head. "None."

A heavy silence followed.

The man's jaw tightened, but he simply closed his eyes and let out a slow breath.

Kai, watching closely, could see the truth—this wasn't just a report to him.

This was personal.

His fellow soldiers… his men… they were gone.

Kai clenched his fists. "I'm sorry."

The man shook his head. "Don't be, kid." His voice was rough, but steady.

"This is war. We do what we can, even if it means sacrificing everything."

Then, with a final nod, he turned and walked away.

"Come on, Kai."

Yuna suddenly grabbed his wrist, pulling him away.

Kai blinked. "Eh? Where are we going?"

Yuna smiled playfully. "To rest, obviously. You need it."

Kai opened his mouth to protest—but stopped.

She was right.

After everything, they deserved a break.

As they walked toward the camp's resting area, unseen eyes watched them from the shadows.

A boy, hidden behind a ruined building, his fists clenched so tightly his nails dug into his skin.

His eyes burned with fury as he watched Yuna pulling Kai away.

His teeth gritted.

His voice, a whisper filled with hatred—

"Don't you dare take my Yuna."
