Chapter 13:The Arachnia Blood (II)
Inside the medical tent, Doctor Sofea examined the unconscious boy Kai and Yuna had saved.
His body was covered in wounds, but one bite mark stood out.
Frowning, Sofea reached out to inspect it—
Then—
SNAP!
The boy's eyes flew open.
His hand shot forward, grabbing Sofea's wrist with inhuman strength.
"W-What the—?!"
With a single motion, he threw her across the tent, sending her crashing into a table.
Sofea groaned in pain.
The boy's body twitched and convulsed.
Then—
His face twisted, his skin stretched and deformed—
Eight glowing red eyes appeared on his forehead.
His mouth split open, revealing sharp, black fangs.
His body was no longer human.
"H-He's... turning into a monster…!"
The creature lunged forward, pinning Sofea to the ground.
She screamed as its fangs sank deep into her neck.
Her body twitched violently—
Then—
Her own face began to change.
Her eyes multiplied.
Her mouth stretched unnaturally, forming a horrifying grin.
She stood up.
And screeched.
Meanwhile...
At the cafeteria, Kai scrolled through his system rewards, while Yuna ate her meal beside him.
"Hey, can you keep it down? We're eating, you know."
Kai chuckled. "My bad."
Yuna smirked.
"You've gotten really strong, Kai."
Kai glanced at her. "Hm?"
"It's been six months since you came here."
She leaned back, staring at the ceiling.
"Your growth speed is insane. It's like… you were made for this calamity."
Kai laughed. "What kind of nonsense is that?"
"Haha, just my thoughts!"
They both laughed—
Then—
A bloodcurdling scream echoed from outside.
Kai and Yuna jumped to their feet.
"What was that?!" Yuna asked, eyes sharp.
They rushed outside—
People were running in terror across the camp.
"What the hell is going on?!" Kai muttered.
Then—
They saw her.
Doctor Sofea stood in the middle of the camp, holding a soldier by the neck.
The man's face was pale, his eyes full of terror.
He spotted Kai and Yuna—
And whispered weakly:
"P-Please… save me…"
Then—
Sofea opened her monstrous mouth—
And bit his head off.
Blood splattered onto the ground.
Kai and Yuna froze in horror.
"What the… hell?" Kai whispered.
Slowly—
Doctor Sofea's head twisted unnaturally toward them.
Her eight glowing eyes locked onto them.
Then—
She screeched—
And rushed forward.
"Get ready, Kai!" Yuna shouted, unsheathing her katana.
Kai clenched his Storm Fang Blade.
"Yeah!"
Inside the Head Tent
The awakened fought desperately, their weapons clashing against the monstrous infected.
"What's wrong with them?!" one awakened shouted, his blade barely blocking an incoming attack.
"They're like zombies!" another yelled.
A loud thud sounded as an infected soldier was slammed into the ground, but more kept coming.
"Stay focused, or we're all dead!"
Then—
A small infected child walked into the tent, its pale hands raised toward them.
For a moment, everyone froze.
Then—
"SCREEEEECH!"
All the infected turned toward them—
And rushed forward like a horde.
"WHAT THE HELL?!"
The tent erupted into chaos.
Meanwhile, Jiwook was still fighting off infected near his tent.
He cracked his knuckles, looking at the monstrous soldiers devouring limbs and chewing on heads.
"Man, these things are really ruining my day."
A soldier's severed arm landed near his feet.
The infected turned toward him, their eight glowing eyes locking onto his presence.
They screeched—
And charged.
Jiwook grinned, raising his fist, his body glowing with buff skills.
"Bring it on."
With a single punch—
BOOM!
A shockwave.sent several infected flying into the air.
Back at the battle near the medical tent, Kai and Yuna struggled against the monstrous Doctor Sofea.
Her strength was beyond human, her movements erratic and unnatural.
"What kind of power is this?!" Yuna gasped as her attack was deflected.
Then—
Sofea's body twitched violently.
With a sickening crack—
Six long, black limbs sprouted from her back.
"S-She's mutating?!" Kai exclaimed.
The monstrous Sofea screeched—
Then lunged toward Yuna at incredible speed.
"YUNA!"
Kai slammed his hands together, activating Earth Creation.
A stone wall erupted in front of Yuna, blocking Sofea's attack.
Yuna stumbled back and exhaled. "Thanks, Kai."
"We need a plan!" Kai said.
Yuna nodded. "Alright."
Then—
She rushed forward, her katana flashing.
She slashed at Sofea—
But the monster's six new limbs blocked every attack.
"Tch. This thing is strong!"
Then Kai gave a signal.
"Yuna, now!"
Yuna jumped back.
Kai activated Earth Creation, trapping Sofea's feet in the ground.
Then—
He used Electric Creation.
Lightning surged through the stone prison, shocking Sofea's entire body.
"SCREEEEEECH!!"
She convulsed violently—
And collapsed.
Kai and Yuna sighed in relief.
Then—
A system notification appeared before Kai.
[Use Blood of Arachnia to cure the infection?]
"A cure?!"
Kai quickly took the item from his inventory and poured the red liquid into Sofea's mouth.
For a moment—
Nothing happened.
Then—
Her extra limbs retracted.
Her face returned to normal.
Her body stopped twitching.
The system displayed:
[Blood of Arachnia used: 2/3]
Kai and Yuna stared in shock.
Before they could even catch their breath—
More infected soldiers rushed toward them.
Kai clenched his blade. "Tch. There's more?!"
Yuna readied her katana. "Let's finish this, Kai."
Kai grinned. "Right.Remember they still human inside so be careful".
Yuna nod
"Okay".
Kai raised his hands, summoning a massive earth wall to block the incoming infected.
Then—
CRACKLE!
He activated Electric Creation, sending a surge of lightning across the battlefield.
The infected convulsed, their movements slowing as electricity surged through their bodies.
"That should buy us some—"
BOOM!
A fireball exploded against the rock wall—blasting it into debris.
Kai staggered back, eyes wide.
"What the—?!"
Emerging from the smoke—
A group of awakened infected stood tall, their twisted bodies glowing with fire energy.
"They still have their abilities?!"
The monstrous awakened raised their hands—
Each of their eight limbs igniting with fire.
Then—
WHOOSH!
They unleashed eight fireballs straight at Kai.
Kai's heart pounded.
He barely managed to dodge, rolling as the fireballs exploded, sending shockwaves across the battlefield.
He gritted his teeth.
"This is bad…"
Meanwhile, Yuna danced through the battlefield, her katana flashing like moonlight.
"Twelve Moons!"
A wave of slashes cut through the advancing infected.
She exhaled, sheathing her blade.
"Damn it i accidently kill them"sigh Yuna
Then—
A massive infected burst through the ranks, screeching as it lunged at her.
Yuna clicked her tongue.
"One after another…"
She sheathed her katana again.
"Fine. Let's do this."
On othersides,
Kai narrowed his eyes and quickly formed a plan.
He summoned an Earth Golem, then used Telekinesis to direct its movements.
A smirk formed on his lips.
"Let's see how you handle this."
He charged forward, the golem following behind.
As the awakened infected leaped at him, the golem swung its massive fist—
BAM!
The infected was sent flying, crashing into debris.
The others turned their attention to the golem, attacking it with flames.
Kai rushed in from the side, grabbing his Storm Fang Blade.
ZAP!
He slashed through one of the infected, sending electric surges through its body.
"SCREEEEEECH!"
It convulsed, temporarily paralyzed.
Kai didn't stop there.
He switched to his Sword of Crystal—
And thrust it straight through the monster's heart.
"PIERCE THROUGH!"
The blade ignored its defenses, sinking deep into the infected's chest.
The creature screeched in pain, its limbs twitching violently.
Kai jumped back, then activated Break of Limit—boosting his stats.
"Take this!"
With a final thrust, he pierced its skull, turning it into dust.
Kai exhaled, smirking.
"Hah… That's one down."
In his though,
"Damn it,i kill it,well Yuna not around so..."
Othe sides,
Yuna, still fending off infected, gritted her teeth.
"Tch… This is getting annoying."
She activated Extreme Speed, dashing through the battlefield.
Her katana flashed, using other side katana knockout through multiple infected.
Then—
A massive limb came crashing down.
Yuna dodged mid-air.
But—
Another limb followed.
Yuna's eyes widened.
"Damn… I can't dodge this—!"
TIME SLOWED.
Then—
A gleaming axe came spinning through the air—
SLASH!
The massive limb was severed, blood spraying across the battlefield.
"SCREEEEEECH!"
Yuna landed, panting.
"What… was that?"
The axe flew back—
Straight into Jiwook's hand.
He smirked.
"Sorry I'm late."
Yuna's eyes lit up.
"Boss!"
The infected beast roared, its remaining limbs slamming down.
Jiwook spun his axe, easily slicing through another incoming limb.
"Ready, Yuna?"
She grinned.
"Attack formation!"Jiwook shout.
"right."
Jiwook charged first, hacking through limbs with raw strength.
Yuna followed, her speed making her almost invisible.
"Now!" Jiwook shouted.
Yuna activated her ultimate skill—
"One Thousand Night Slashes!"
A storm of slashes tore through the infected beast, critically wounding it.
It collapsed, turning to dust.
Jiwook smirked.
"Good work."
Yuna grinned.
"Thanks, Boss."
Kai ran up to them.
"You guys okay?"
Yuna nodded. "We're fine."
Then—
THUD.
A severed head rolled onto the ground.
Everyone froze.
Kai and Yuna looked up—
And saw a figure standing at the center of camp.
It was—
The child they had saved.
His small, twisted form stood among the corpses.
His eight black eyes glowed.
He raised his hand—
And the infected army turned toward them.
Then—
The child screeched.
The entire horde started charging forward.
Jiwook exhaled, shaking his head.
"Well… Looks like you two brought us a real problem."
He readied his axe.
"Alright, soldiers. If you don't want to die—fight!"
Jiwook planted his foot down, his muscles tensing.
Kai, seeing an opening, created a stone pillar under Jiwook's feet—
Launching him into the air!
"Nice one, kid!" Jiwook grinned.
Mid-air, Jiwook activated his skill—
"Rage of the Destroyer!"
His aura flared red, his axe glowing with raw power.
Then—
BOOM!
He swung down, sending a shockwave that blasted dozens of infected into the air.
Kai watched in awe.
"That's insane…!"
On the other side, Yuna dashed forward, her katana a blur.
Her target—
The infected child.
"One clean strike…"
She aimed straight for its neck—
But—!
A twisted, infected awakened intercepted her strike, blocking with unnatural speed.
Yuna's eyes widened.
"Tch! Annoying!"
She leaped back, sheathing her katana.
Her gaze turned to Kai.
"Kai, got a plan?"
Kai grinned.
"Always."
He equipped his Frost Spear and shifted it into Longbow mode.
"Ready!."
Jiwook and Yuna nodded.
"Ready!"
Jiwook charged in first, his axe carving through the infected, clearing a path forward.
Yuna dashed behind him, preparing for the final strike.
Meanwhile—
Kai stood at the back, pulling his bowstring, launching frost arrows—freezing and shattering any infected that got too close.
"Go, now!" Kai shouted.
Jiwook swung his axe, sending a group of infected flying, creating a clear path to the child.
Yuna saw her opening—
She vanished, moving at lightning speed—
"Taste this!"
She unleashed a deadly slash toward the child's neck.
But—
SCREEEEEECH!
The infected child dodged at the last second.
Yuna's eyes widened in shock.
Before she could react—
The child grabbed her collar and threw her into the air!
"YUNAA!!" Kai and Jiwook shouted.
Then—
An infected awakened appeared mid-air—
And punched Yuna straight down.
"GAAH!"
She crashed into the ground, blood splattering from her lips.
Kai's heart pounded.
He rushed forward, activating Extreme Speed, catching Yuna before she hit the ground.
"Yuna! Stay with me!"
Yuna weakly opened her eyes.
"Kai… I…"
Then—
She collapsed.
"Damn it!" Kai gritted his teeth.
Jiwook's aura flared with rage.
"You MONSTER!!"
He charged in, swinging his axe violently, cleaving through dozens of infected.
Each swing sent bodies flying, his fury overpowering everything.
But—
The infected child leaped at him from behind.
"What the—?!"
CHOMP!
Jiwook gritted his teeth in pain—
The child had bitten him!
"Tch… You little—!"
Jiwook grabbed the child and threw hima
across the battlefield.
The child screeched, landing gracefully.
Jiwook clutched his shoulder, glaring.
"Damn it… I won't fall that easy!"
Kai rested Yuna down gently and used a healing potion on her.
"Just hold on."
Then—
He turned to the infected child, his eyes burning with determination.
He activated Break of Limit, boosting all his stats.
Then, with Extreme Speed, he rushed forward.
As he ran, he equipped both Storm Fang Blade and Crystal Blade.
His swords cut through the infected, clearing his path—
Until he reached the child.
Jiwook swung his axe, trying to decapitate the child—
But the child dodged effortlessly.
"Damn it! This thing is fast!"
"Step back!" Kai shouted.
Jiwook nodded and retreated.
Kai slammed his hand into the ground—
"Earth Spike!"
A sharp stone pillar erupted beneath the child, impaling its torso.
The child twitched, screeching, trying to break free.
Kai leaped into the air—
Hethrew all his weapons into his inventory—
And then used Telekinesis to control them mid-air.
"Take THIS!!"
All of Kai's weapons rained down on the infected child.
The child flailed, blocking some, but—
SLASH!
The weapons tore through its limbs.
"SCREEEEEECH!!"
Finally—
Kai activated Electric Creation, buffing his Storm Fang Blade.
With one final thrust—
He drove the blade straight into the child's skull!
"DIE!!"
BOOM!
The child screeched one last time—
Before its body collapsed into dust.
Kai panted, exhausted.
Then—
The remaining infected rushed toward him.
Kai's eyes widened.
But—
FWOOOOOSH!
A massive blast of fire engulfed the battlefield, burning all the infected to ashes.
"SCREEEEEEEEECH!"
Kai turned his head, shocked.
A figure stood in the distance…
Flames still flickering in his hand.
Kai's eyes widened in recognition.
"Baek Jung…?!"
The man smirked
"Took you long enough to clean up."
