Chapter 220: Destroying Zeno's Guards

Zeno: "What? You're saying my rule power was taught to you by me in another timeline? In other words, you're not from this dimension, right?"

(Zeno immediately reacted.)

(No wonder he had never sensed such a familiar power in all his years.)

(It turned out this guy came from another timeline.)

Grand Priest: "Goten, stop talking nonsense. Lord Zeno's rule power cannot be taught. It is an ability that only Lord Zeno, the supreme god of the universe, possesses. It's undeniable that you're exceptionally talented, but what you just claimed is impossible."

(The Grand Priest interrupted firmly.)

(He didn't deny that Goten had extraordinary potential.)

(For a mortal to cultivate strength surpassing an Angel was already remarkable.)

(But to claim that Zeno had taught him rule power? That was nonsense.)

(The power of rules could not be taught, just like an Angel's divine energy.)

(No ordinary being could learn it.)

(Zeno nodded in agreement.)

(Even a Grand Priest couldn't master rule power, let alone a mortal.)

(Even if he personally guided the Grand Priest, it wouldn't be possible.)

(Only Zeno had the right to wield it.)

(Clearly, Goten wasn't telling the truth.)

Goten: "Believe it or not."

(Seeing the doubt on their faces, Goten spoke calmly.)

(He didn't care whether they believed him.)

(If this had been their first meeting, he might have chosen his words carefully.)

(But now, his strength far surpassed theirs.)

(He no longer saw them as threats and had no reason to fear them.)

Grand Priest: "Goten, mind your tone. You shouldn't speak to Lord Zeno like that!"

(The Grand Priest frowned, his gaze locked onto Goten.)

(This guy's arrogance was beyond anything he had imagined.)

(From their conversation, it was clear Goten knew about Zeno and himself.)

(Yet, despite standing before Lord Zeno, he remained utterly indifferent. That was unsettling.)

(Since taking this position, no one had ever dared to address them this way.)

Goten: "Are you threatening me, Grand Priest? With all due respect, your threats mean nothing to me."

(Goten's cold eyes met the Grand Priest's.)

(If this guy kept pushing, he wouldn't hesitate to kill him.)

(After all, in another timeline, he had already killed a Grand Priest.)

(He wouldn't mind doing it again.)

(The Grand Priest stared back, but unconsciously, he felt a flicker of fear-something he had never experienced before.)

(The realization shocked him.)

(He had never felt this way against any opponent.)

(And yet, just one look from Goten had shaken him.)

Grand Priest [in mind]: 'Impossible. Absolutely impossible! It must be an illusion! How could a mere mortal, even one who has mastered Lord Zeno's rule power, make me feel fear?'

(He shook his head vigorously, but the unease in his heart only deepened.)

Zeno: "Grand Priest, are you alright?"

(Zeno's voice snapped him back to reality.)

(Seeing the Grand Priest so unsettled was rare.)

(It only reinforced the fact that Goten was truly formidable.)

(Not only had he mastered rule power, but his overall strength was unfathomable.)

Grand Priest: "I'm fine, Lord Zeno."

(The Grand Priest quickly composed himself.)

(Zeno, still staring at Goten, tried to see through him but found nothing beyond the familiar rule power.)

(It was as if Goten was a bottomless void, impossible to perceive-even with Zeno's ability.)

(That was alarming.)

Zeno [in mind]: 'Attacking without understanding his true strength would be reckless. I need to figure out just how powerful he really is.'

(Zeno had never felt so conflicted.)

(Who would have thought that dealing with one mortal would be so complicated? But Goten was too confident, too unreadable.)

(A reckless attack could lead to disaster.)

(Even the Grand Priest had shown a flicker of fear-something almost unheard of.)

(After some thought, Zeno finally spoke.)

Zeno: "Goten, I see that you're quite powerful. Are you interested in becoming the Grand God of Destruction?"

(Keeping Goten under control would buy time to assess his true power.)

Goten: "In another timeline, I've already become the Grand God of Destruction. So I have no interest in such a title."

(Goten's voice remained indifferent.)

(If he wanted, he could become the Zeno of this universe in an instant.)

(But in this timeline, neither Zeno nor the Grand Priest had provoked him much.)

(There was no reason to eliminate them.)

(Right now, his only priority was returning to his own universe.)

Zeno's Guards: "Heh! Hey, you're way too arrogant! Speaking to Lord Zeno like that-do you have a death wish?!"

(Finally, the two guards behind Zeno snapped.)

(Ever since this guy arrived, he had been acting like he was above everything.)

(And now, he dared to speak to Zeno with such disrespect?)

(Clearly, he didn't understand the meaning of the word 'fear.')

(They had to teach this mortal a lesson.)

(But the moment their voices fell-)

(Goten cast a cold glance at them.)

(Under the stunned eyes of Zeno and the Grand Priest, the guards' bodies began to dissolve, vanishing little by little.)

(Their faces twisted in sheer terror.)

Zeno: "Wha-what?!"

(Seeing his guards disappear, Zeno was instantly shocked.)

(The Grand Priest's mouth fell open in disbelief.)

(Goten hadn't even lifted a finger-just a single glance-and Zeno's guards were erased from existence.)
