On the day I was supposed to try on wedding dresses with my boyfriend of seven years, I rushed to the bridal shop filled with excitement.
But I accidentally overheard a conversation between my boyfriend and his friend.
"You got married to Melody at the courthouse yesterday, and today you're bringing Summer to try on wedding dresses. Aren't you afraid Summer will find out and make a scene?"
He looked helpless and said in a hoarse voice, "My brother died in a car accident. Melody is pregnant with his child. If I don't step up and marry her, how will they survive as a widow and orphan?"
"I'll spend my whole life making it up to Summer. Keep your mouth shut. She can never find out about this."
I turned around and made an appointment for an abortion at the hospital.
If he couldn't give me and the baby a complete family, then we might as well not have one at all.

Discovering My Boyfriend Married While Trying On Wedding Dresses

When I arrived at my destination, I freshened up and planned to find a highly-rated restaurant nearby.


Accidentally, my fingers slipped and I opened my social media feed.


Immediately, I spotted Melody's new post from just two minutes ago.


She had shared two photos - one of a wedding suite decorated with "happiness" characters, and another of her newly updated contact info, where she had changed Dashiell's name to "Baby's Dad".


The caption read: "It's such a shame our little sweetheart isn't born yet to witness Mommy and Daddy's happiest day. But we'll keep this happiness going forever. Looking forward to this new chapter with you, Baby's Dad!"


Seeing this update, my expression darkened. I was about to exit when I noticed Dashiell's comment.


This seemed like a silent acceptance of her new way of addressing him.


Looking at this title, I found it increasingly ridiculous.
