The Abyss

The air grew heavier with each step Zhang Yong and Lilith took, the faint whispers from the abyss fading into an eerie silence. The barren wasteland stretched endlessly before them, but Zhang Yong's instincts were razor-sharp. He could feel it—something ancient and malicious was watching.

"Zhang Yong," Lilith murmured, her usually playful tone laced with unease. "This place… it's not normal. The spiritual energy here feels warped."

He nodded, his golden eyes scanning their surroundings. "It's not just warped—it's alive. Stay sharp. Whatever's here won't give us the luxury of introductions."

As if responding to his words, the ground beneath them trembled violently, splitting open into a series of jagged chasms. From the depths of the cracks emerged grotesque creatures, their forms an amalgamation of rotting flesh, bone, and dark energy. Their soulless eyes glowed faintly, and their snarls reverberated like distant screams.

Lilith grinned, her scythe glinting ominously as she spun it in her hand. "Finally, some action. I was getting bored."

But Zhang Yong wasn't smiling. He could feel the malevolence radiating from the creatures. These weren't mindless beasts—they were something far worse. "They're remnants of the abyss," he said coldly. "Corrupted souls bound by hatred. They don't die easily."

Before Lilith could reply, the horde charged.

Zhang Yong moved first, his figure blurring as he launched himself into the fray. His blade, glowing with golden light, sliced through the creatures with terrifying precision. Flesh and bone disintegrated under the sheer force of his strikes, but the abyssal energy that held them together refused to let them fall. Severed limbs writhed, reforming and rejoining the battle.

Behind him, Lilith danced through the chaos, her scythe carving arcs of destruction. Each swing unleashed waves of dark energy that obliterated multiple creatures at once, but even her attacks seemed to falter against the endless tide.

"These things just keep coming!" she snarled, leaping back to Zhang Yong's side.

He didn't respond immediately. Instead, he closed his eyes, his aura surging as he activated the Absolute Krishna Domain. The world around them seemed to shift, the oppressive energy of the abyss recoiling under the domain's overwhelming presence.

"Stay close," Zhang Yong commanded, his voice calm but firm.

Lilith smirked. "As if I'd let you have all the fun."

With the domain active, Zhang Yong's attacks became devastating. The creatures' regeneration faltered, their bodies disintegrating completely under the weight of his strikes. The Absolute Krishna Domain didn't just destroy—it erased.

But the battle wasn't without cost. Zhang Yong could feel the domain's influence growing stronger, its power intoxicating. For a moment, he hesitated, the shadowy figure's warning echoing in his mind.

"Don't lose focus, Zhang Yong!" Lilith shouted, pulling him back to reality.

He gritted his teeth, suppressing the domain's pull. "I'm fine. Let's finish this."

Together, they tore through the remaining horde, their movements perfectly synchronized. Lilith's scythe provided cover while Zhang Yong's blade delivered the killing blows. One by one, the creatures fell, their bodies dissolving into black mist.

When the last creature fell, the ground trembled again, and a deep, guttural laugh echoed from the chasm.

"You've done well, mortals," a voice boomed, dripping with malice. "But this was merely a taste. The abyss has no end, and neither does its hunger."

From the chasm rose a massive figure, its body a writhing mass of shadows and twisted limbs. Its eyes burned with an unnatural light, and its presence was suffocating.

Zhang Yong tightened his grip on his blade, his golden aura flaring. "So, you're the one pulling the strings."

The creature laughed again, its voice shaking the ground. "I am but a fragment of the abyss, a mere shadow of its true power. And yet, I will consume you."

Lilith smirked, her scythe ready. "Big talk for a pile of sludge. Let's see if you can back it up."

The battle began anew, fiercer and more brutal than before. The abyssal creature was unlike anything they had faced, its attacks unpredictable and devastating. It wielded the very fabric of the abyss, launching tendrils of darkness that tore through the land.

Zhang Yong and Lilith fought with everything they had, their attacks pushing the creature back but never truly damaging it. The abyss seemed to regenerate endlessly, its power overwhelming.

Realizing they couldn't win through brute force, Zhang Yong activated the Absolute Krishna Domain once more, pushing it to its limits. The domain expanded, enveloping the creature completely. Within its boundaries, Zhang Yong was a god, his will absolute.

The creature roared in defiance, its form dissolving under the domain's crushing power. But as it faded, its laughter echoed one final time.

"You cannot escape the abyss, Zhang Yong. It is eternal, and it will consume you… piece by piece."

When the battle was over, Zhang Yong deactivated the domain, his body trembling from the strain. Lilith approached him, her expression uncharacteristically serious.

"That thing… it wasn't lying, was it?" she asked softly.

Zhang Yong didn't answer. Instead, he stared at the chasm, his mind racing. The abyss was far more dangerous than he had imagined, and its reach extended far beyond this battle.
