Night.

Selene~

The water swirled around me, almost too warm. I let out a shaky breath, sinking further into the bathtub until it lapped at my shoulders.

My fingers brushed the surface, sending small waves across the water, which was scented with lavender and something faintly sweet.

It should have felt calming, but my heart still raced with the memory of that woman—the way she looked at me, her unusual behavior, and her words.

I trailed my fingers down my arm, letting the water glide over my skin. It was smooth and soft, the kind of skin people had always envied. They'd call me beautiful to my face, yet somehow it always felt hollow—like a mockery.

I stared at my reflection in the water, distorted and rippling as if mocking me.

The bathroom was too quiet than my liking. While Kira and Mira were taking care of my room and clothes, I was here still contemplating.
