The Forest Fairy.

My heart pounded louder with each step, the echo of their voices fading behind me.

As I walked down the hall toward Damien's chambers, the silence felt deafening. The whole journey went on with me dealing with my thoughts when that guard announced, "Luna, please enter."

The large oak doors creaked open as the guard pushed them with a slight bow, revealing the dimly lit chamber beyond.

The air inside was heavy, carrying the faint scent of cedarwood and something darker, more primal. My breath hitched.

I blinked, coming out of my trance, and looked at the opened door. I hesitated as my eyes gazed into the room. I took a step forward, stepping inside, the soft carpet beneath my feet muffling my movements.

Finding Damien but failed.

I looked back without turning, I asked, "Where is he?"

The guard shrugged. "I am not currently aware, Luna." His voice carried a hint of hesitation.
