"I want to share something...with you." I scolded myself for letting myself stutter but I did not let it show on my face.
Damien's gaze locked onto mine, his piercing eyes narrowing. His silence was unnerving. I couldn't tell if he was curious, irritated, or both.
My fingers clenched at my sides, but I held my ground, determined not to falter.
"Go on," he said finally, his deep voice rumbling through the room, and so did my body.
I took a steadying breath, gathering the courage to continue.
"It's that..." I bit my lips still trying to make up some excuse when a thud sound echoed in the room.
My heart sank.
Damien's piercing gaze was directed behind me. Elliot!
"Move," he tried to move me aside, but I gripped his arm.
He gave me a sharp look, his crimson eyes narrowing in warning. "Selene," a shiver ran down my spine as my name rolled off his tongue.
