The street was quiet, the only sound the soft crunch of gravel beneath Joseph's and Destiny's feet.
They walked shoulder to shoulder, the silence between them awkward yet calming.
Joseph felt like he could stay in this silence forever, just walking beside Destiny, feeling her presence. But he knew they couldn't stay silent forever. They needed to talk.
As if reading his mind, Destiny turned to him and said, "How was your day?"
Joseph opened his mouth to respond, but Destiny wasn't the only one who had spoken. He had said the same thing at the exact same time.
They both laughed, the tension broken. "Oh, sorry," Joseph said, chuckling.
Destiny smiled. "No need to apologize."
Joseph took a deep breath, trying again. "Okay, let me start. How was your day?"
Destiny's smile faltered for a moment, but then she recovered. "It was good. Fine."
Joseph sensed there was more to it, but he didn't push. Instead, he asked, "And what do you do?"
Destiny's eyes sparkled. "I work as a graphic designer."
Joseph nodded, impressed. "That's cool."
Destiny smiled, seeming to relax. "Thanks."
Joseph glanced at her, feeling a pang of curiosity. "You seemed tense after that phone call earlier. Was everything okay?"
Destiny's expression turned serious. "It was my boss. We had a...disagreement."
Joseph raised an eyebrow. "About what?"
Destiny hesitated, then seemed to decide to trust Joseph.
"I was working on a project, and my boss didn't like the direction I was taking it. We had a bit of an argument."
Joseph nodded sympathetically. "I'm sorry."
Destiny smiled wryly. "It's okay. It's just part of the job."
They walked in silence for a moment, the only sound the rustling of leaves in the wind.
Then, Joseph asked, "So, what's your favorite color?"
Destiny's face lit up. "Gold and red."
Joseph raised an eyebrow, teasing. "Gold and red? You can't be serious."
Destiny laughed. "I'm totally serious."
Joseph chuckled. "Okay, okay. Gold and red it is."
So, you said you love graphics and you do your own graphics design, right?" Joseph asked.
Destiny nodded. "Yes, I work as a graphic designer."
"I want to quit my job," Joseph said, a hint of excitement in his voice.
Destiny's eyes widened in surprise. "Why would you want to quit your job?"
Joseph took a deep breath. "I know it's going to be hard, but I want to spend all my savings to quit and build my own company on game development."
Destiny's expression changed from surprise to curiosity. "That sounds like a big risk. What makes you want to do that?"
Joseph's eyes lit up. "I've always been passionate about gaming, and I think I have a great idea for a game.
But I need someone with graphics skills to help me bring it to life."
Destiny smiled. "And you thought of me?"
Joseph nodded. "Yes, I did. Would you be interested in working with me? Or maybe even just doing some freelance work for me?"
Destiny hesitated for a moment. "I'll have to think about it and weigh the pros and cons. Can I get back to you on that?"
Joseph nodded. "Yes, of course. Take all the time you need."
Destiny smiled. "Thanks, I appreciate it."
As they turned a corner, the streetlights cast a warm glow over the sidewalk.
Joseph glanced at Destiny, feeling a sense of wonder. Who was this woman, and why did this woman make him feel a sense of wonder.
