"That arrogant man!" One of my colleagues said "Bunmi are you alright?"
"I'm alright. I have calmed down." Bunmi said.
She turned to me.
"Thank you, Davina." She said with smile.
Bunmi Adekunle. The last child of the most affluent, most rich Adekunles.
I have known her since my last year in university. She's very tender and kind even though she hails from a family of great wealth.
The long and short of it is, she's a rich daughter getting hands-on knowledge and experience in small work before inheriting a subsidiary from her parents.
I have known her since my last year in university. She has been nice from day one. I think she may have gotten this job knowing I was here, even though higher opportunities were a phone call away.
When she started she was a bit naive, but now she has shown her capability and determination in this job, that she's probably going to leave soon.
Though the embarrassing scenario earlier did not really let her skills shine.
She has, however become a great friend to me.
"You're welcome." I smiled. "Well, that guy was a lot."
"Seriously" she said grimacing as she remembered the conflict earlier.
"It was so embarrassing. Everyone was watching!"
"He embarrassed himself, actually."
I thought about it and nodded.
"Time to go home, I'm tired abeg." I said, stretching.
My colleague now spoke "Tired? I was hoping we could go for some drinks?"
"Alcohol on a Wednesday night?" Bunmi said rolling her eyes
I just looked at him and said "I have work tomorrow, see you next time"
I don't really socialise with people other than Bunmi, I have other things on my mind.
I walked out of the restaurant now changed and in casual clothes.
It was very humid, and very warm. I had left my hair tie at home so now I couldn't put my braids up.
'How annoying.'
The ubers were scarce too. They were pricey pf course but there wasnt any other public transport available. I couldn't walk home and it was getting late.
I looked at the time and realised just how worn out my watch was. I hadnt bought a new one in years. I don't really have that luxury anyways.
*Ping* An uber!
"Wait!"
"Huh?" I turned around and saw my branch manager, Dare running towards me.
He was a middle aged man who often Sat at his desk and came when necessary. He also did not come to work everyday. Today was not his working day so I was a bit confused.
"Da- Davina." He said, panting.
"Yes sir? Good evening. Is there a problem?"
"Someone wants you."
"What?"
