Caleb tried to intervene, but Solana stopped him with a sharp gesture. She turned back to Sarafina, her voice dripping with false sweetness as she continued, her crocodile tears almost convincing.
"I'm sorry, Sarafina," Solana said
Sarafina's anger flared, and she scoffed. "Sorry?" she repeated bitterly. "That's enough."
But Solana wasn't done. She leaned in, her voice growing colder as she spoke, "We can't change what's already been done. Let the living continue living. You were going to die anyway."
The words hit Sarafina like a slap across the face, Her body tensed, her hands clenching into fists. She was sitting restlessly on the floor, barely able to keep her emotions in check.
Suddenly, she stood up with a surge of anger, slapping her face in an attempt to clear her mind. She pulled her straightened hair back in frustration, her heart pounding in her ears.
Solana sneered at her, taunting, "You think this is going to end differently? You were always weak, Sarafina."
That was the breaking point. Sarafina lunged at Solana, her fury boiling over. But Caleb stepped between them, grabbing her shoulders roughly and turning her toward him.
"Are you willing to die over this?" Caleb's voice was cold, causing the atmosphere tensed.
Sarafina's chest heaved as she tried to push him away, her emotions getting out of control l. Caleb, however, didn't give her a chance. With a swift motion, he shoved her backward, and she stumbled.
Her head crashed against the sharp edge of the glass center table with a sickening thud. Blood immediately began to pool around her, a flood of red staining the floor as her body crumpled to the ground. The world seemed to freeze in that moment, but Sarafina was gone, her life snuffed out in an instant.
Solana stepped closer, gazing down at Sarafina's lifeless body,"She's dead, baby," she murmured, her voice disturbingly calm.
Caleb looked down at Sarafina with cold detachment. "She was going to die anyway," he said flatly. "Cancer patients often feel dizzy, fall unconscious. This will just be another excuse."
Without a second thought, Caleb turned away, pulling Solana with him. They didn't waste a moment. They fled the crime scene, leaving behind a life cut short and the broken remnants of a love that had never been real.
