Betrayal in broad daylight

He declared that he would search for the woman who stole his wallet and shouted, "I won't take this lightly with you! Give it back!"

Sarafina, who was confident in herself, didn't seem bothered. When the man saw her, he pointed at her and declared, "She is the woman who stole my wallet!"

Everyone turned to look at Sarafina, and some people even started recording the event. Sarafina refused to accept such an insult and asked, "Where is your evidence?"

The man showed her a picture from the CCTV camera and demanded she return the wallet.

"But unfortunately, I don't have it," Sarafina declared.

She then turned to Solana. "Can you explain why your wallet was with another person? You told me to pay for your meals with your wallet, right?"

"Yeah, I gave you my wallet. I don't know how you got another person's wallet," Solana said. "If you were short on funds, you should have just asked me instead of going through this humiliation."

Sarafina's eyes narrowed. "Why are you trying to frame me and act like the victim?"

"I mean, trying to blame me for this? It's you, Sarafina, in that picture," Solana declared.

Caleb tried to de-escalate the tension, but his words didn't seem to matter.

Sarafina's voice turned sharp. "Why did you have to stoop so low as to steal an innocent person's wallet just to frame me? And you call me your best friend? What kind of friendship is that?"

The crowd began to murmur, criticizing Solana for her actions.

Just then, security interrupted, announcing that the wallet had been found on a tray. The man checked its contents and quickly apologized to Sarafina for the misunderstanding. He admitted he had reacted that way because the wallet contained his one-month salary.

Sarafina hadn't even realized this because she had never touched the wallet—it had all been a trap.

Still frustrated, she insisted on rechecking the CCTV footage to confirm who had taken the wallet. However, she couldn't bear the judgmental gazes of the onlookers, who had assumed she was guilty and had only dropped the wallet when she thought she was about to be caught.

Solana tried to brush it off. "It's not necessary. The owner already said not to worry about it, and everything inside was complete."

Sarafina clenched her fists, unable to ignore the fact that Solana had always been like this—always trying to take her place and claim what was hers. But she decided not to continue the argument and turned to leave.

As she walked away, Solana called out, "What is with you?"

Sarafina ignored her and kept walking. Frustrated, Solana turned around hastily, only to bump into a sales assistant carrying a tray of hot soup. The impact caused the assistant to stumble, and the soup spilled forward.

Sarafina, who had been leaving, noticed what was happening and quickly grabbed the girl in front of the sales assistant to prevent an accident. However, the hot soup ended up spilling directly onto Caleb, who had been standing right behind them.

It splattered onto his favorite shirt—the one he had bought using Sarafina's credit card.

"Are you hurt?" Sarafina asked the girl.

"I just sprained my ankle because of the sudden pull, but it's nothing serious. Thank you," the girl replied.

Sarafina smiled and recognized her as their newly accepted intern, Sophie. Dressed in a blue shirt and black pants, with neatly combed hair and manicured nails, Sophie looked stunning.

Grateful, Sophie said, "Can I treat you to something sometime as thanks? I could have gotten burned today."

Sarafina smiled softly.

Meanwhile, Caleb was trying to clean his shirt, and Solana, rather than taking responsibility, was yelling at the sales assistant for their incompetence.

Caleb noticed that Sarafina wasn't concerned about his burn. Instead, she was laughing and chatting with their newly employed intern.

Annoyed, he walked up to her. "Is this how important I am to you? I just got burned, and you don't even care! You're too busy laughing with her."

Sarafina shrugged. "Don't overreact. It's just a small burn."

Caleb's expression darkened. He couldn't take it anymore and walked away, with Solana immediately following him.
