Betrayal within 2

Solana stood in the restroom, gripping the sink with frustration. She looked through the mirror and anger burning over her face

"Why? Why does she always have to be so lucky?" she hissed through gritted teeth. "Why did Tony give her another chance?"

Jealousy twisted in her chest, making her fists clench. She had worked too hard to let Sarafina outshine her again.

A slow, wicked smile curled on her lips.

"I'll have to do something she will never forget in her life," she murmured, her voice dripping with malice.

And this time, she wouldn't fail.

Sarafina sat at her desk, staring at the files before her, frustration creeping in. No matter how many times she checked, she couldn't understand how her presentation had gone wrong. The only logical explanation was that someone had tampered with it.

Her phone buzzed.

Meet me at the rooftop. – Tony.

Without hesitation, she made her way up.

Tony stood with his hands in his pockets, his expression unreadable.

"Thank you for giving me another chance to present," Sarafina said, offering a small smile.

"It's okay," Tony replied. "But there's something you need to know." He hesitated, then continued, "I checked the CCTV footage… and it confirmed that your boyfriend tampered with your presentation."

Sarafina froze.

"What?" she gasped. "That's impossible! I thought it was Solana!"

"I thought so too," Tony admitted. "Her behavior during the conference was suspicious. But the footage shows Caleb at your desk, switching the files."

Sarafina's mind raced. Why would Caleb do this to me?

"Why did you suspect Solana?" she asked after a moment.

"Because she was acting strange," Tony said. "And I saw her near your table this morning. I assumed she was trying to steal ideas from your proposal."

Sarafina swallowed hard.

"So… what are you going to do about your boyfriend?"

She hesitated, her emotions in turmoil. "I'll ask him why he did it."

"Won't that be dangerous?" Tony asked, concern in his voice.

Sarafina forced a smile. "Dangerous? He's my boyfriend, remember?"

But deep down, she knew—Caleb wasn't the man she thought he was. And she wasn't sure she was ready to face the truth.

Sarafina hesitated. Confronting Caleb was risky,Tony was right, but she needed answers. Taking a deep breath, she pushed aside her doubts and went to find him.

Caleb sat at his desk, frustration etched on his face. He had been struggling financially his bad trades had cost him everything, and now, he was broke.

Breaking the tense silence, Sarafina spoke. "Caleb, I need to talk to you."

His head snapped up, his expression cold. "Why?" he asked sharply. Still, he followed her without protest.

Sarafina turned to face him. "Why did you tamper with my presentation? Why would you do something so horrible?"

Caleb scoffed. "Who told you that? Why are you blaming me for your own failures?"

"I saw the CCTV footage," she shot back, her voice laced with anger.

His lips curled into a smirk. "Oh, I see… You and Tony are so close now that he lets you check security footage? And he even gave you another chance to present?" His voice dripped with mockery.

"Take it however you want," she said, her patience snapping. "But hear me clearly,I won't tolerate any more games from you or Solana."

Caleb's expression darkened. "Do you want to die?" he snarled, his voice cutting through the air like a blade.

Sarafina barely had time to react before he lunged, his hand reaching for her neck. She had a sharp reminder of how he had pushed her in past life she leads to her death.

A firm voice interrupted.

"You won't believe what will happen to you if you try that."

Sarafina's heart pounded as she turned to Tony.

He stepped forward, his sharp gaze locked on Caleb.

"I've been watching the time," Tony said coolly. "You've been up here too long. I had a feeling something was wrong."

Caleb clenched his fists, his jaw tightening. "Why are you so interested in my relationship?" he demanded. "Did she complain to you?"

Tony didn't flinch. "If you lay a hand on her again, I'll make sure you regret it. And I'll see you in court for physical harassment."

The tension thickened, a silent battle of wills.

For the first time, Caleb hesitated.

Sarafina realized—this was far from over.
