Chapter 11

Lanaya answered without hesitation, "I want to remarry you."

It seems we're not on the same page, so there's no need to continue this conversation.

I pointed across the street and said, "Remarriage is out of the question, but if you want to file a police report, the station is right over there."

With that, I turned and left without looking back.

After discussing it with Serenity, I applied for a transfer to work in a different location.

This way, I could completely prevent Lanaya from finding me again.

But I never expected that despite all my efforts to avoid her, I still couldn't escape.

To force me to face her, Lanaya set the curtains on fire when Owen hit her once more.

The flames roared fiercely.

When I received the emergency call to assist, the fire had already spread.

Only Lanaya was left clinging to the window ledge outside, trying to escape the flames.

She saw me and excitedly spread her arms, begging me to save her.
