Yes.
It's all for Melody.
I'm a Ph.D. student who graduated with honors from a top-ten university in the world.
My passion for racing led me to become a professional race car trainer.
I was once the world's number one race car driver trainer, but for Melody's dream, I decisively gave up a lucrative contract renewal with my former team to join Melody's obscure domestic racing team.
To avoid burdening her, I proactively proposed to the team manager to keep my identity hidden and work without pay, all to help Melody achieve her dream of winning a racing championship.
Now, it's because of this hidden identity that I've discovered her betrayal of our marriage.
Melody noticed my sudden change in expression, glared at the few team staff members, then led me to the cafeteria.
She said thoughtfully, "Honey, wait here. I'll go get you the best dishes from the team cafeteria!"
As soon as Melody walked away, the chair across from me was suddenly pulled out.
Gunner, with hostility in his eyes, spoke, "Jaxon, Melody's with me now. You should divorce her."
Hearing Gunner speak so directly about his relationship with Melody, I was momentarily stunned. He let out a cold snort, pulled out a file folder, and tossed it in front of me, gesturing for me to open it.
I opened the folder and saw it was full of compromising photos of the two of them.
Gunner grabbed my collar arrogantly: "You're just an unemployed nobody. You don't deserve to be with Melody at all."
"I suggest you divorce her immediately, or things won't end well for you!"
Was he threatening me?
Well, tough luck. I've never been one to fall for that kind of crap.
I stared him down coldly: "If I don't deserve her, do you think you do?"
Gunner sneered: "As her navigator, I can be her partner in races and give her a whole different experience in bed."
"Melody and I are a perfect match."
Just as he finished speaking, Melody returned with a tray of food. Seeing how Gunner was treating me, her expression changed and she yelled: "Gunner, what are you doing to my husband!"
After getting glared at by Melody, Gunner reluctantly let go: "I was just having a friendly chat with Jaxon."
While they were facing off, I quickly stuffed the folder with the photos into my bag.
This folder might give Melody an even bigger "surprise". The drive for home was filled with an awkward atmosphere between Melody and me.
Melody seemed to sense it too, cautiously observing my expression throughout the journey.
She awkwardly tried to initiate various topics of conversation, but seeing that I wasn't responding, she would reluctantly fall silent each time.
After we got home and I had just taken off my coat, Melody suddenly slipped her hand inside my shirt. "Honey, let's have a baby."
Thinking of what she and Gunner had done in the new house, I immediately removed her hand from my shirt and walked towards the bedroom with a cold expression.
How could she possibly think I would have a child with a woman who had cheated on me?
Sensing my coldness towards her, Melody assumed I was angry about what had happened at the car racing team and kept apologizing to me.
"I'm so sorry, honey. I'm sorry you had to go through that embarrassment at the team today."
I pushed away her attempt to embrace me and said coldly, "I want to sleep alone tonight."
She looked at me in surprise, and after a long moment, slowly nodded.
After locking the bedroom door, I lay on the large bed, looking out through the glass at the moon: "It's almost time. I'll be leaving soon."
