Chapter 2

The next day, Melody got up before dawn.

She woke me from my sleep with hot, wet kisses: "Honey, the mystery coach sent me a message to go train at the track this morning. Come to the team for lunch and we'll eat together."

As her so-called mystery coach, I didn't expose her lie.

Hearing the front door close, I got up and went to the study converted from a storage room.

This study housed multiple computers used for various purposes in analyzing Melody's races.

Melody had no idea this room existed.

When I opened the software on the left of one of the computers, the positioning system immediately displayed Melody's current location.

I had originally installed the tracker in her car out of concern for accidents, never imagining it would become a tool to monitor her infidelity.

The map showed Melody had stopped 500 meters from home and wasn't moving.

Zooming in, I immediately recognized it as the new house we had just bought.

Suppressing the bitterness rising in my heart, I opened the surveillance machine recently installed in the new house.

Two bodies entwined together instantly appeared on the screen.

This was the big house we had specially purchased for raising children in the future. Melody actually brought Gunner here proactively to make it convenient to stay together!

It wasn't until after four or five hours of fooling around that the two finally separated with satisfied looks on their faces.

Gunner held her tightly and asked, "Am I better than that husband of yours?"

"Why don't you divorce him and be with me instead?"

Melody pushed him away forcefully and looked at Gunner coldly. "Don't forget, we're just fuck buddies looking for thrills, no feelings involved."

In the surveillance footage, Melody quickly put her clothes back on and kicked the naked Gunner with her foot.

"Morning training time is here, we need to hurry back to the racing team."

Gunner reached out and gripped Melody's waist. "This little temptress still has energy for training? Looks like I didn't try hard enough!"

At those words, Melody playfully punched him.

Gunner pulled Melody into his arms, planted a passionate kiss, and only then did the two leave the new apartment contentedly.

As I watched the used tissues strewn on the floor in the surveillance footage, it felt like an invisible hand was squeezing my heart tightly in my chest, leaving me breathless for a long time. After a long while, I posted a notice in the racing team's internal communication group: [Training suspended for today], then drove to the team's headquarters.

As I arrived at the team's lounge, I saw Melody and Gunner walking towards me side by side.

The moment Melody saw me, she rushed over with her face full of love.

As she took my hand, I immediately felt a hostile gaze fall upon me.

I shifted my gaze to Gunner as he extended his hand to greet me: "Jaxon, long time no see."

Our hands gripped tightly, the hostility and challenge in his eyes completely undisguised.

"You're more delicate than I imagined."

I pushed up my glasses, pretending not to understand his innuendo.

Melody, however, seemed to glare at him warningly before pulling me into the lounge.

This was my third time coming to the team as Melody's husband. After the other team members greeted me, they began complaining to Melody about the mysterious coach.

"It's quite rare for the mysterious coach to suddenly cancel the simulated track training today!"

"Although he never shows his face, he's so strict that we practice two hours more than other teams." Another mechanic chimed in, "Do you think he canceled because he knew Melody wasn't feeling well today?"

"He really does care about Melody, doesn't he? After every race, he's always the first to send over all the data. Even if Melody notices a small hiccup, he's right there with a message checking in."

As I listened to their conversation, my hands clenched into fists at my sides.
