Chapter 3 A new dawn

2 weeks later

Caden's funeral has been taken care of, the school hanged a nice picture of him in the hallway but it had been taken down, Kai still hasn't gotten over what happened that night, he's also deeply hurt by the fact everyone thought he was crazy when he told them what killed Caden.

Kai's walking down the sidewalk usually Caden would be by his side but he's dead, Kai had the same puzzled sad expression everyday on his face since the day Caden died both of his hands were inside his hoodie pocket and he was lost deep in thought, he just couldn't get that night out of his head.

He headed straight to his house then entered into his room and took off his clothes, immediately he dropped down to the floor and began doing pushups, then he did sit ups and at the end of the day he completed a full body workout.

The sun had gone down Kai came out of the bath as he dried his hair with a towel his physique was much better than before his chest had increased and his abs were slightly intact. The number 16 kept ringing in his ear, he couldn't believe that the person who saved his life was about the same age with him that was what kept pushing him to get stronger, within those two weeks a lot about him had changed from his physical appearance to the way he thinks, he also stopped talking much both at home and in school.

The Crimson Vanguard 

"Am super syched about the fight tomorrow though not all of us will get to participate but we can see some of the best fighters in our class in action" Girl 1 said she wore a black and black outfit, every student at the Crimson Vanguard wore black and black some of the girls wore skirt while some others wore a bodysuit but everything they wore was black.

"Especially Aiden he's so hot whenever he gets so serious" Girl 2 added. The school had two gigantic buildings in it which was the bigger building containing the classrooms, training rooms, weapons vault and the Staff room where teachers stayed, the other building was the dorms where all the students slept each student had their own room and the rooms were spacious behind the building was a battle arena where students were tested at times.

That was where they trained in order to become stronger and learned about the creatures they fight almost every day.

Inside one of the classrooms

"AM SUPER PUMPED UP FOR TOMORROW'S MATCH UP I DON'T CARE WHO I FACE OFF AGAINST I JUST PROMISE TO DO MY BEST" Dax yelled, Dax is a huge muscular guy he is about 200cm tall and he has body was well chiseled, he had way too much muscles for a teenager he has a low cut hair style with razor sharp carving at the edges of his hair he has always been super passionate and pumped up in everything he does he was literally the only student who wore a sleeveless top revealing his incredibly huge biceps.

"You don't have to be so loud, you truck sized moron" Damien complained, Damien has white hair that fell around his head from each side he had grey eyes too that went well with his hair he is about 170cm tall and had the perfect fit for a 15 years old teenager.

"Hey Aiden what do you say huh, me and you tomorrow in a one on one fight let's settle it once and for all and am not taking no for an answer" Ryder challenged, Ryder has cool red hair that sat on top of his hair perfectly with thick black eyes and a muscly upper and lower body and is about 177cm tall he walked closer to Aiden while he spoke.

"No" Aiden responded it was barely a whisper but somehow it reverberated through the entire class, Aiden has a light brown hair that he loosely pony tailed behind his hair some strands of his hair didn't fit into the ponytail he had a perfectly shaped jaw line thick brown eyes and on both his arms he had visible triangular metal pieces on the surface of his arms and legs it ran all the way from his shoulder to his fists but most of the time it isn't visible due to the jacket he wears underneath his sleeveless top like that of Dax.

"What did I just say to you moron I said I am not taking..." Interrupted by Freya "We don't get to choose our opponents Ryder you know that, that's how it is every year so stop with the noise and head on back to your seat" Freya said, Freya a striking 16 year old with dark brown hair brown eyes and her sitting position and way of speaking exuded an aura of confidence the bodysuit she wore made her physical appearance to be well seen.

Ryder's brows squinted as he slowly turned around to see who had challenged him it wasn't the first time so he already knew who had said it "You talking to me, dollface ?" Ryder always raised his head up at the same time lowered his gaze anytime he got angry it was his way of literally looking down on people.

"Last I checked there was only one Ryder in this class or are you so dumb you don't even recognize your own name when you hear it" Freya was literally the only person in their entire classroom who talks to Ryder in that manner everyone always avoided interactions with him because Ryder has always been hot headed and incredibly rude but Freya didn't.

Ryder held his arm up and opened his palm, with that fire immediately came out, standing on top of his palm, "You wanna go ?" His voice sounding cynical and irritated as ever, "With pleasure" Freya said, the door immediately made a loud thud followed by it's quick opening, all attention was suddenly drawn from the brawl to the door, Mr Zane casually walked inside "Take your seat Ryder" His dull greens eyes piercing into Ryder's soul. No one ever really understood Mr Zane sometimes he's super playful sometimes he's super serious, and this looked like one of the times where he's serious.

The whole was incredibly silent no one made a sound, most of the students were uptight while some even went to the extent of sweating no one knew what he was about to say but his character made it obvious that it wasn't going to be something good.

"Okayyyyy I know you've all heard about tomorrow's match up and only 5 of you would be fighting some of you were grouped among yourselves while the others would face off against other classes the Principal would be there so do your very best to win" Mr Zane spoke so fast that they couldn't keep up with what he said 

"Aiden Valor, Dax Helion, Ryder Thorn, Damien Frost and Freya Stone these are all the current members of the Alpha Squad among the first years so you'll be the ones fighting tomorrow, the principal wants to see how far all of you have come, goodluck" Mr Zane had returned to his normal playful old self, making some of the students feel relaxed he casually walks towards the door after his announcement.

"I'LL DO MY BEST" Dax yelled enthusiastically, "Yeah you will" Mr Zane said before he walked out. 

"Tomorrow is gonna be awesome, I can't wait to kick some ass". Ryder yelled "First year's Alpha Squad, prepare yourself this is gonna be a tough one" Ryder bellowed.
