Chapter 8 Everything Changed

In a split second Dax shot himself into motion unleashing a devastating shockwave that rippled throughout the arena, in the blink of an eye he closed the distance between him and Eryk his torso stretched out, with a lightning fast jab Dax struck Eryk's gut.

Eryk's eyes widened with pain and his head jerked forward, a split second later Dax's fist shot out propelling Eryk into a backward tumble that kicked up a cloud of dust, the entire scene unfolded in just 3 seconds.

As the dust slowly settled, Eryk could be seen standing up with his hand on his gut and a sinister smile on his face "Not bad first year, nice punch but you're going to have to do a lot more than that to take me out". The attack was powerful but Eryk's body can withstand such attacks, but it still hurt especially due to the fact that he was caught by surprise.

A passionate and adrenalized grin spread across Dax's face as he said "I'll try harder in my next attack" Immediately he zoomed off again towards his opponent with relentless force, he released a flurry of punch on Eryk each blow as fast and strong as the latter, Eryk used both hands to defend as he placed it in an x form.

"Damn it, when does he plan on stopping I can't take hits like this much longer" Eryk said inwardly, Dax went for another punch this time targeting Eryk's gut, so he swiftly changed the course of his arm mid air and went straight for Eryk's gut.

With swift and precise motion Eryk moved to the left and raising his left arm up, immediately Dax's arm passed through he brought his arm down hastily holding Dax arm firmly under his armpit immediately he used his other hand to deliver a devastating blow to Dax's face which sent him flying, the sound of the impact echoed through the arena, the whole crowd was shocked as to how one blow sent someone as huge as Dax flying.

Eryk stored up all the blows Dax had previously landed on him and channeled everything into his right fist which is what made the blow incredibly strong, but somehow Dax was still standing as tall as ever with a grave look on his face "Your punch was incredible it was packed with so much passion and rage" immediately he bowed deeply his hands firmly placed at his sides and sincerely asked for forgiveness.

"AM SORRY FOR NOT PUTTING A 100% OF MY POWER INTO THAT INITIAL PUNCH, I SINCERELY APOLOGIZE AND I PROMISE TO NOT HOLD ANYTHING BACK FOR THE REST IF THIS MATCH" The whole crowd was shocked as to what he had just said.

"He didn't put his everything before, if I didn't channel all my energy to my gut initially I would have been taken out what the hell is up with this guy, he didn't even fall down when I initially punched him" Eryk thought inwardly to himself.

The adrenalized smile was back on Dax's face, he opened up both his arms as wide as possible, like someone about to receive a hug and with intense speed he smashed both hands against each other, releasing a thunderous clap as hands collided the air itself seemed to shatter, a defeating wave of sound exploded outward, rolling like an invisible tsunami, the sheer intensity of the noise made the air vibrate pressing down on chests and stealing breaths of everyone inside the arena.

The vibration was crazy intense, Eryk's leg wobbled around for a while his entire world vibrating relentlessly most of the students and teachers pressed their hands against the side of their face but it wasn't enough.

Eryk fell down on his butts, blood slowly rolling out of both his ears, eventually the storm came to an end, Eryk was seated on the floor his entire body vibrating easily, an uneasy feeling in his entire body, apparently the other students had already recovered but Eryk's condition was still critical.

After Eryk's punch, Dax knew what Eryk's power was and since every one of his attacks were so powerful it'll just be absorbed and used against him, so he used his hands to create a powerful wave, they weren't so powerful to send anyone or anything flying the wave was so weak it felt like wind against Eryk's body but the vibration from it was so distorting, not strong enough to be absorbed but just enough to make him win the fight.

"Eryk Vael can you still move ?" Mr Zane asked, Eryk was still dazed so he couldn't say a thing, "Okay then well I guess Dax Helion is the winner of this match".

Dax faced Eryk"Thank you for the match, you are a strong but unfortunately not strong enough let's fight again one day Eryk Vael" he bowed deeply and walked out of the arena.

"This kid can pull off long short range attacks so wonderfully well, Dax Helion obviously the third strongest first year for a reason" The Principal said inwardly.

Now that four out of the five members of the Alpha Squad among the first years have fought, one of them remains Aiden Valor, the only first year who has reached Level 7 and the strongest among the first years.

"Hey Kai", "Oh hey, what's up Lena ?". Lena, a young girl with lustrous brown skin and black afro hair style, she has light brown eyes and a well shaped body, she's hanging a backpack and a sweater wrapped around her waist , "Nothing much I just wanted to ask you something", her tone decreasing with each word and slowly broke eye contact, "Okay, go on" Kai said casually.

"It's about the 50th anniversary of our school next weekend, I was wondering if you want to go with me ? But it's probably if you don't I mean it's..." "Yes" Kai said calmly.

"Yes ?" Lena asked her tone rising, "Yes Lena I'd love to go to our school's 50th anniversary next weekend with you". Lena's face glowed with happiness and a beautiful grin slowly spread across her face "Oh my gosh really, thank you so much Kai" "No problem, I'll pick you up ?" "Sure I'll text you my address later on I have to get to class".

Ever since Caden died smiling became a chore for Kai so there was always this blank, unreadable expression he kept on his face even as he watched Lena walk away.

"To be honest I didn't even know our school was celebrating a 50th anniversary the entire school must probably be talking about it, and now I have a date, just great the only reason I said yes is because I saw how anxious she was, anyways it's already been sealed, lately I'd rather sit on rooftops or stay in my room than go to a party, damn it's not just smiling but ever since Caden died everything's a chore, how did I change so much is it a good thing or is it bad ? What does it matter though it's not like...".

 "Kid" A man dressed in a janitor's outfit calls out to Kai, "You're going the wrong way class is that way" he said pointing his fingers towards the left, "Oh yeah that's right, silly me" Kai said softly.

As he walked towards class he continued his talking "Am sick of this school".
