Ryder walks into the arena's sitting area with a grumpy look on his face as usual and he folds his arms while sitting down, "Ryder" Damien called out with surprise "What are you doing here shouldn't you be in the hospital or something ?". "I know, I am not completely healed up but still I wanna see how he performs" His eyes locked on Aiden from the distance it's like nothing else existed except Aiden.
"Now as for the next and also the last two contestants we have Aiden Valor of the first years and Landon Pierce of the third years", Mr Zane announced.
"Landon Pierce, He was originally the only level 7 student in school until Aiden caught up to him, this is gonna be a tough one, even for Aiden, the two best students at Crimson Vanguard going toe to toe with each other, I can't wait to see how this match ends up" Mr Zane said inwardly.
Both contestants walked slowly onto the battle arena, Aiden folded his sleeves up revealing the iron braces wrapped around his forearm, Landon walked onto the arena taking his time with each step, his entire appearance exuded an aura of confidence. His hair covered his left eye while his right eye bore a somber intensity, his wings rested effortlessly against his back, their soft folds a testament to his calmness on his right hand firmly gripping the slender almost fragile looking hilt of his enormous dark blade.
He ascended onto the battle arena which was slightly above ground level with a sudden burst of energy his wings exploded outward, their feather slicing through the air with a sharp whoosh. The intense look in his right eye, growing only deeper whereas Aiden was more calm headed, he knew how powerful his opponent is but he maintained his cool and left the same serene look on his face.
Both contestants stared straight into each other's souls, the whooshing of the wind could be clearly heard due to the silence inside the arena, "BEGIN" Mr Zane shouted his grave voice reverberating throughout the arena.
Instantaneously Landon shot himself into motion his wings flat and straight behind his back, he shot through the air with devastating speed and before Aiden could move a muscle his opponent was in front of him, his enormous blade only a few inches from his neck, Aiden's calm demeanor shattered in an instant.
He elevated his left arm up in a flash, the enormous blade struck fiercely on the metal braces, despite being so close to defeat Aiden's focus didn't waver, he immediately thrust his right fist forward heading straight for Landon's chest, Landon's wings immediately rose swiftly into the air and with a single flap he flew backwards evading Aiden's blow by a hair's length. "I didn't even waste a second after countering his attack yet he still dodged it" Aiden thought screaming in alarm.
"First attempt failed" Landon uttered, his voice laced with sheer confidence. Immediately he shot himself forward into the air before Aiden could exhale after he inhaled Landon was right in front of him again, his sword heading straight for Aiden's neck, with immediate response Aiden raised his left arm to block the attack the blade paused mid air with precise stillness as if time itself had frozen.
Aiden's eye widened with confusion, with devastating force Landon's fist struck Aiden beneath his jaw his head jerked upwards and his entire body being yanked onto his toes as if he was being yanked upwards by an invisible force.
With a single flap of his wings he moved far away from Aiden and immediately his feet touched the ground Aiden's lifeless body landed straight on his back, "Second attempt successful" Landon uttered. The entire crowd was surprised, they knew Landon was stronger but they didn't expect such a beat down.
"If I was down there I would have been killed on the first attack, how did Aiden move fast enough to dodge that, this guy isn't just strong he's.." a chill ran down Ryder's spine as he inwardly realized.
Aiden slowly dragged his body up to stand on both feet his face and hair completely messed up, "Are you ready to go again ?" Landon asked his wings bent forward his legs spread apart from each other and his blade tightly clutched with both hands from the fragile hilt.
His wings flung backwards and his legs leaped forward simultaneously blasting him straight into the air with devastating speed, his calm demeanor shattered as he saw Aiden right in front of him, his fist readied about to unleash a dangerous blow, Landon had difficulty stopping because the force he used was way too much, he literally flew straight into Aiden's hands.
Aiden's fist connected fiercely with Landon's gut which forcefully brought his entire body to a stop his head and legs jerked forward a fine mist of saliva and air burst straight from his lips, in a blink of an eye the braces on his arm jolted into motion with a metallic clang the device slammed together triggering a second impact far worse than the first a thunderous shockwave erupted from the point of contact sending Landon flying away with his body and wings bouncing on the hard concrete floor numerous times before finally coming to a stop.
With sharp and precise motion the braces on Aiden's arm split apart releasing a burst of steam that hissed into the air like a pressure valve unleashed "Maybe it's cause of your flashy wings or sword but I think you forgot I am also on the same level as you Landon Pierce". Aiden said with a sharp cool tone.
After the dust had settled Landon swiftly rose to his feet, a gentle curve on his lips "You're right I was completely consumed by my desire to make this match end in less than a minute but I think I need two more to deal with you" Landon wasn't yelling but still there was something about his voice that was so domineering.
"It doesn't matter what level you're in a stronger opponent will always beat the weaker one and genuinely speaking not to insult you or anything like that but I am the stronger opponent so for that single handed reason I will win this fight Aiden Valor". Landon's voice was as sincere and serene as ever.
"Oh am gonna so much enjoy punching the shit out of you Landon" Aiden said, an enthusiastic grin slowly spreading on his face.
