It's been a month since I last saw my elder sister. A month since she pulled that stunt and ran away from her wedding.

Honestly speaking at first I was so upset with that she did that. I mean she ran away and left me alone with my dad and the house workers. But now I understand why she left, why she had to run away. I mean I'd probably do the same if I were in her shoes. Being forced to marry a dude I don't love, hell no. Not even in a million years to come would I do such a thing.

My sister knows the consequences of getting married to a man you don't love because she saw how May's mom auntie Maggie suffered.

Her husband used to physically abuse her and she stayed like that without telling any member of the family. She continued to live like that for all her twelve years of marriage even after May was born.

When May grew a bit older, she was told by her mom not to tell anyone what she saw in the house. She agreed, because she was just seven years old at that time and she didn't fully understand what was really happening.

Then one day when she was about ten years old she secretly called my mom and told her she wanted to talk to her that it was something urgent. That's how my mom went to her house told aunt Maggie that she wanted to get May so that they could go shopping with my mom and Avril. I was just about a year old by then.

After they left May told my mom everything that she had been seeing at home. She told her how her father would always beat her mom and how she always hid her bruises With make-up and how she always wore long sleeved shirts to hide the marks on her body.

My mom was hurt after hearing this and that's how she called the police and reported a domestic violence case and later on the Case was taken in court and May was the witness to the victim.

Later on aunt won the case, then the court immediately told the couple to divorce and May's dad was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment with hard labor. So as we speak right now he's still in prison with 2 more years to serve in prison. May goes to visit him sometimes though.

This is why I understand why Avril never wanted to marry John.

If there's a person that I'm really upset with it's John. I mean I practically saw that dude as my brother but he went ahead and agreed with the stupid marriage. What was he thinking anyways.

Apparently I got tired of studying and I started reading one of my favorite fantasy novels and I told the house helpers not to come and look for me because I didn't want anyone to come and disturb me and they obeyed. It's not like they had a choice anyways.

I really miss my sister and I can't help but wonder where she is right now. I always miss her especially on days like today when I don't have to go to school or church.

May always comes to keep me company on Saturdays but today she didn't come because auntie wanted her to go and help her get groceries for the house.

I've never really had friends and I've always been hanging around with May and Avril even though they are practically way older than me. Avril is like seven years older than me and May like nine years older than me.

It's not my fault though that I don't have friends. I was literally being homeschooled when I was in elementary and middle school.

I only started going to school last year when I entered eighth grade and it's like hard for me to speak to people.

To make matters worse I have a personal chauffeur and he always comes to pick me up at the right time. The only thing that stopped my dad from letting my personal bodyguard stay with me during school hours was because the head mistress of the school said that our school was a school of simplicity and allowing me to have a bodyguard follow me everywhere was going to make my school mates feel less than.

I love my school so much but the only thing that I don't like is that fact that it has a lot of rules. Rules like how a girl laughs, how she walks, how her uniform should look and how she talks to people. Caritas Convent girls' secondary school is one hell of a school.

I'm seated there enjoying my book and the queen fairy of the book has just found out that her father killed her mother, when I hear a very soft knock on my door.

What the hell I thought I made it clear when I told these people I didn't want anyone to disturb me.

I stand up from the window couch ready to go and snap at whoever has the audacity to come and disturb me when I told them not to.

I open the door and I open my mouth to ask the person knocking on my door if they didn't hear me when I told them I didn't want any disturbance, but the words don't leave my mouth because the person standing by my door isn't one of the house helpers.

"Avril?" I call rubbing my eyes just be sure I ain't hallucinating. " What the heck are you doing here?"

"Shhhh," she says covering my mouth as she pushes me inside my room and locks the door behind us.

She lets go of me and she sits on my bed a huge smile plastered on her face. What the heck is girl okay? Does she seriously think she has the time in the world to smile inside the house of a man searching her like crazy

"What the hell are you doing here?" My voice barely audible because the last thing I want is someone hearing me talk to her.

"Relax girl," she says that smile never leaving her face "no one knows I'm here. I just missed you so I came to see you. Is it wrong for a sister to visit her sister?"

"Bitch are you crazy or....."

"Excuse moi madame. Remind me again how old are you?" She interrupts me.

"Douze ans," I say knowing very well that I'm in for it.

"Exactly, twelve years of age and you're using those nasty words. What did I tell you about using those words."

"You told me not to use them." I answer my voice barely above a whisper

"Exactly, do you want me calling sister Mac Claire and telling her that the best student of her school cusses?"

"Non sœur,"

"Good girl now you can say what you wanted to say."

"You do know that dad is searching for you right?"

"Oui."

"Then why are you going around risking your life like that? And how exactly did you get in without being seen?"

"I used a secret tunnel?" She says like it's quite the obvious thing in the world. Like everyone is supposed to know that this house has a secret tunnel.

"This house has a secret tunnel?"

"Yes, not just one beaucoup."

"What do you mean a lot? How come I don't know any of them?"

"Because you were to young when mom showed them to me. Anyways enough about the tunnels I need a favor from you."

"What?"

"I want you to go and get for me a few of my clothes from my room and my phone."

"Okay, for the phone it'll be easy for me to get coz I easily hide it in pocket, but the clothes how will I hide them."

"If anyone finds you just tell them that you miss me and that you want a piece of me in your room."

I leave my room and head to Avril's room even though I inwardly cuss at the fact that the room is on the other side of the house.

I reach there without being seen. That's a relief. I go in her closet, get a few of her clothes, I come out and I start looking for her phone in the drawers. As soon as I get everything that I need I leave the room and start heading for my room.

I'm just about to get inside my room when I meet Sarah the house keeper.

"Good day my lady?" She greets with a little bow. It's funny how these people treat my family like we are some kind of royalty

"Good day Sarah," I answer

"My Lady, if I may ask? What are you doing with lady Lusibilo's clothes?"

"Oh, Sarah please don't laugh at my childishness," I say trying to sound as calm as possible

"Oh my lady I dare not do such a thing." She says her tone sounding as though she's afraid of what would happen if she was caught laughing at me

"Well, it's just that I miss my sister and I just want a piece of her in my room. That's it." I say hoping she bought it

"Oh, I'm so sorry my lady I should have known better." She says so much sympathy in her tone of voice "if you'd would please excuses my manners."

"It's okay Sarah,"I tell her

"Thank you my lady. I shall take my leave then."she says inclining her head into a bow

I enter my room close, the door behind me and I hand my sister the things she asked for.

She unlocks the phone does something with it then gives it to me saying "please keep this for me."

"Okay, but were you doing with it?"

"I was checking if it's still tapped by dad."

"Oh okay and?"

"Still tapped. I guess I'll just have to continue using the one that I recently got. Give me your phone."

I give her, she presses a few things there,then gives it back to me saying "here, that's my new number call me whenever you miss. Don't give anyone this number, not even May. Oh and don't save me by my name save me as something else. Whenever you call me speak first so I know for sure that it's you."

"Alright, so about those tunnels?"

"What about them?"

"I want to be coming to see you,"

"Oh no no you'll do no such thing lady Rose. Then what will you tell dad when he finds out that you're sneaking out,"

"I'll come up with an excuse," I say tears already forming in my eyes

"Bubu no, I can't put your life in danger and besides I'm staying at my boss's place I don't think he'd appreciate you visiting."

"Okay big sis, I hear you."

"Please don't worry I'll come for you soon just give me a year. I can't let dad ruin dreams."

"Okay, I'll wait for you."

"Good girl, I'll leave now,"she says standing up from my bed.

"Alright take care." I say

"Alright, by the way my boss is a medical student doing his final year in neurosurgery." With that she leaves my room and she's gone.

Omg her boss is almost a doctor. I really would like to meet him one day. I just love interactions with doctors because they sooo inspire me
