70. A surprise at the dinner

AT THE EVENING

WANESSA'S POINT OF VIEW:

Dinner started off normal or at least as normal as it could be after everything that had happened. We were all seated at the massive dining table, plates filled with food that looked fit for a royal feast. The conversation was light, mostly the king and queen eagerly discussing wedding preparations, clearly excited for what they called the 'best event the kingdom has ever seen.'

I wasn't really paying attention. Something felt off. A strange warmth spread through my body, subtle at first, then gradually stronger. My pulse quickened. My skin felt unusually warm. It wasn't just me either. Across the table, Wren shifted uncomfortably, her breathing slightly uneven. I rubbed my arms, trying to shake the weird sensation. My fingers trembled slightly.

"Is it just me, or…?"I muttered.
