The person speaking was Sophie Su's biological brother, Saif Su.
Sophie's eyes turned icy as she shouted, "Saif, what nonsense are you talking about? No one wants to save Grandpa more than I do!"
This family was full of schemers. Sophie had been raised by her grandfather, Elder Su, and she was the one who truly cared about saving him.
Yet now, her own relatives saw her as a villain.
Saif glanced at his father, William Su, and yelled,
"Dad, I'll stop that guy! How dare he mess with Grandpa—he's asking to die!"
Sophie quickly stepped in front of Ethan, shouting, "Saif, what are you doing?!"
"Saving Grandpa, of course!" Saif sneered.
"Who knows where you found this accomplice? You're trying to kill him!"
He tried to shove Ethan aside.
Ethan raised a hand sharply.
"Two more needles. If you disrupt the energy flow now, your grandfather will die."
Sophie panicked and blocked Saif fiercely.
Meanwhile, the hospital director watched coldly from the doorway, smirking.
Go ahead, show off. This'll just prove your guilt.
A crowd gathered, sneering and mocking:
"Ethan must've been beaten stupid earlier!"
"We pitied him before, but he's just a fool."
"He'll rot in jail for this!"
"How did our hospital end up with such an idiot?!"
Sophie glanced uncertainly at Ethan. "Can you actually do this?"
"Stop distracting me!" Ethan reply with sweats on his face.
It was a critical moment.
Elder Su had nearly suffocated the night before. Weak heartbeat and poor blood flow had caused clots in his brain and heart. Death was inches away.
Seeing Sophie's determination, Saif backed off but growled, "If you kill my grandpa, I'll destroy your whole family!"
William Su barked, "Where are the real doctors? Check my father now!"
The hospital director nudged Doctor Aruia. "Go explain, will you?"
Doctor Aruia sighed.
"Mr. Su, Ethan's just an intern. There's no way he can save Elder Su. Look—his face is already blackened like a corpse. His sister messed up last night, and now Ethan's making it worse!"
Saif exploded.
"Sophie! You teamed up to murder Grandpa! You'll be front-page news tomorrow, you traitor!"
"Dad, grab her! Let's take Grandpa home!"
At that moment, Ethan plunged two thick acupuncture needles into Elder Su's palms and soles. Black, ink-like blood oozed out.
12th needle: Defying Death.
13th needle: Breathing life into the dead.
As the final needle sank in, the previous twelve magically rose from Elder Su's skin.
Sophie trembled. "How is he?! If you're lying, I'll ruin you!"
Ethan touched his stomach.
"Damn, I'm starving."
Sophie: "…"
Saif rushed to the bed, howling like a wolf.
"Grandpa! You died so cruelly! I'll avenge you! I'll grind your killer to dust!"
Suddenly, the room fell silent.
Elder Su's deathly gray face flushed pink. His eyelids twitched.
Saif screamed, "GHOST!!!"
The hospital director paled. "This… this can't be real!"
Doctor Aruia gasped. "Resurrection? Impossible!"
William Su and his wife exchanged nervous glances.
Sophie sobbed at the bedside. "Grandpa… you're awake?!"
Elder Su sat up, coughed black blood, and smiled weakly.
"My dear, I'm alive. Thanks to this young miracle doctor!"
He turned to Ethan.
"To think someone so young pulled me from the underworld!"
Holding Sophie's hand, he added, "Don't let our family mistreat him."
Sophie nodded. "If his demands are reasonable, I'll agree."
Ethan crossed his arms. "They accused me and my sister of harming you. If I wanted you dead, why did i save you?"
Elder Su chuckled.
"You're a stranger—no motive. The real culprit's still out there."
Grinning, Ethan pointed at the hospital director.
"I don't want money. Just drag this bastard out of power!"
The director burst out laughing.
"You naive fool! Who gave you the guts to say that? Hahaha!"
Laughter drowned out at Ethan's voice in the hospital room.
The staff, loyal to the hospital director, mocked Ethan's boldness.
The Su family was powerful in real estate, but they had no ties to Ren'ai Hospital.
Doctors smile:
"Did Ethan really save Elder Su? Doubt it!"
"He's just an intern—no medical license!"
"Doctor Aruia did the work. Ethan just got lucky!"
The hospital director smirked. "Our hospital tried our best for Elder Su. This accident is Ethan and his sister's fault—not ours."
Saif Su growled, "Whoever hurt Grandpa, I'll grind them to dust!"
The director nodded. "Even if mistakes happened, we worked hard. Right, Elder Su?"
Elder Su stayed silent, smiling faintly.
Ethan scoffed, "You're all full of crap. I'll get revenge myself!"
Sophie, said loudly "Who says the Su family won't act up for our saver?!"
She stepped forward.
"Director, Ethan saved Grandpa. You're blaming innocent people to hide your own failures!"
The director sneered. "Let the police handle it."
Just then, officers barged in to arrest Ethan.
Sophie glared. "This is a provocation against the Su family!"
An officer shout, "We're taking Ethan. Move or we'll arrest you too!"
Elder Su's gentle gaze turned icy.
"Ethan saved my life. No one touches him."
The officer laughed. "Who are you? Some retired soldier?"
The hospital director crouch down in fear.... Idiots! Can't you see who he is?!
Elder Su stroked his beard. "Just an old veteran. Call Director Lynn."
The officers froze. "Why involve Director Lynn? Crane Team sent us!"
Panicked, the hospital director watched as Director Lynn rushed in.
"Apologies, General Su!" Director Lynn slapped the officers.
"Fools! He's a national hero! You're FIRED!"
After kicking them out, Director Lynn bowed. "I'll send guards to escort you home."
Elder Su waved him off. "No need."
Director Lynn fled, avoiding further drama.
The hospital director, sweating, tried to backtrack. "Ethan's sister still messed up last night—"
Elder Su cut in, "If we're blaming people, why isn't your negligence questioned? A killer roamed your hospital!"
The director stammered, "A… a misunderstanding!"
"Don't play games," Elder Su warned.
"You're being stupid. The logic doesn't make sense."
Turning to Sophie, he said, "Let's go home. I've had enough of these schemers."
Sophie nodded. "I'll arrange the cars."
Elder Su smiled at Ethan. "The Su family keeps promises. Name your price."
Sophie added coldly, "We'll honor it."
Ignoring his own family's awkwardness, Elder Su closed his eyes, done with the drama.
Sophie glared at the director. "Challenge the Su family, and you'll regret it."
The director hissed, "Ren'ai Hospital isn't yours. Touch us, and you'll lose Doctor Aruia's help!"
Sophie smirked and called the hospital's shareholders. "Tell them: either fire the director, or we'll build a rival hospital across the street and bankrupt them."
