Surge of New Power

"Let's go," Ares murmured as he stood up from his sitting position. But before they could leave, Ares turned to wake up Magnus.

"Magnus, Magnus, wake up! We're moving to the 2nd floor," Ares said, tapping Magnus, who was still in his meditative pose.

Magnus's eyes snapped open, his vision blurry for a moment. When he looked up, he saw Ares standing in front of him, his figure towering and imposing.

"Brother, are you finished already?" Magnus asked.

"Yes, and we're heading to the next floor now," Ares replied, his tone cold and resolute.

Magnus immediately stood up, ready to follow, but a sudden chill ran down his spine. He felt an eerie, suffocating presence nearby, as he looked around, he realized that the overwhelming aura was coming from Ares.

He had no clue what Ares had done in such a short time to gain that powerful aura.

Standing close to Ares, Magnus could feel intense pressure, as if being near him meant facing instant death or being swallowed by his overwhelming presence.

Ares immediately turned his back and walked toward the door in front of them. As they moved forward, he checked his current status.

His eyes widened in shock as he saw a huge change in his stats.

"What the!?" Ares exclaimed his voice filled with surprise.

Seeing it, Ares stood dumbfounded as he gazed at the screen. Sylphir had expected this reaction, Immediately, Ares turned to her and asked, "What happened?"

"Well, well," Sylphir said, her tone full of confidence.

"Do you feel your mana flowing to your spirit now?"

"Uh, yes?" Ares says, curious about it.

"That's called Aether Focus," Sylphir says. "Aether Focus allows the user to harness their inner energy to protect themselves and strike with enhanced power. The user can manifest an invisible aura around their body, deflecting attacks or boosting the potency of their physical strikes. Not only that but when you're in battle, the aura becomes more intense as you fight, reacting to your mental state. If you're calm, it keeps your defense steady, and nothing can touch you."

And there were two more additions, Spirit Essence: Soul Vision (Perception) and Ember Will (Empath and Mind Control).

Hearing this, Ares's mind felt like it was about to explode. Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, he asked, "How can I increase my attack and defense?"

"That depends on the monsters you kill. Each monster you devour will add to your stats," Sylphir explained.

Seeing his new stats, Ares felt grateful for successfully completing the spirit awakening. He grinned in amusement, then shifted his focus in front of him, holding the key.

Ares pointed the key at the door and pierced it deeper into the keyhole. The door slowly began to move, sliding apart.

Behind him, Magnus swallowed nervously, his eyes fixed on the opening doorway.

Immediately, monsters appeared before them, their levels displayed on the screen.

[Abyssal Overlord - Level 35]

[Chaos Guardian - Level 35]

[Shadow Fiend - Level 35]

[All of the monsters are level 35 and above, and each of their species has a number of 50.]

[5000/5000]

Seeing their numbers, Ares smiles in amusement instead of being scared.

Seeing their numbers, Ares smiles in amusement instead of being scared.

"Now, let's test my new power," Ares mutters.

[Your summon has been lifted. You can use your summon now.]

The screen adds.

"Come forth," Ares murmurs as he lifts his hands to call out his summon. Immediately, a large bunch of shadows appear beside him, and Magnus's eyes widen as he sees it.

"I thought you couldn't use your summon, brother?" Magnus asked, confusion in his voice.

Ares grinned. "Well, I've awakened my spirit, so now I can."

Without wasting any time, Ares commanded his summon to charge forward. He then leaped into the battle, joining the fight alongside them.

His summons roared as they fought fiercely. Fiddlesticks, displaying incredible skill, swiftly took down several enemies.

[You have devoured 5 monsters]

[You have devoured 3 monsters]

[You have devoured 2 monsters]

[You have devoured 4 monsters]

Attack: 0 (+20)

Defense: 0 (+20)

As his summons continued to slay the monsters, Ares's defense and attack rapidly increased.

Now it was his time to shine. In an instant, Baruka's Dagger appeared in his palm, while the Frostbear Claw materialized in his other hand. He dashed forward with such speed that even the level 35 monsters couldn't react in time.

As Ares slashed through their heads, he could feel his spirit flowing within his body, his MP surging alongside it, growing stronger with each strike. With every monster he slew, their bodies froze over, their faces twisted in frustration at the overwhelming power before them.

"I don't know if this guy is just lucky to have found the key, or if it's all just a coincidence," Sylphir thought.

Magnus, watching from behind, felt a surge of inspiration as he watched Ares effortlessly slay the monsters. "Wow, Brother really got stronger," Magnus thought before unsheathing his sword, his eyes burning with determination.

He immediately charged forward to attack the monsters, but his sword barely scratched their tough bodies. It wasn't what Magnus had expected. "They're tough... How is Brother killing them so easily?" Magnus muttered, gritting his teeth in frustration.

Before Magnus could react, one of the monsters appeared behind him, ready to cut him in two. But Ares's summon noticed it in an instant. With a quick motion, the monster was frozen solid and then sliced in half by Ares.

"Hey, don't just charge at them recklessly. You could get yourself killed," Ares warned, his eyes sharp and serious.

Ares noticed the burning determination in Magnus's eyes. He could see that Magnus was eager to grow stronger too, clearly admiring Ares. Letting out a sigh, Ares realized he had no choice but to support him.

"Fine... go and kill them, but be careful," Ares said, his voice firm but encouraging.

Magnus's face lit up with a grin as he heard his Ares approval. "Thanks, brother!" he shouted, his excitement clear as he charged back into the battle.
