I slammed the door with all my might, causing him to cry out in pain.
I couldn't care less if I broke a few of his fingers.
"Get the hell out of here, or I'm calling the cops!"
His face turned pale from the pain, but incredibly, he still wouldn't let go.
He pulled out his phone again, showing me the booking records on the screen.
"I booked tickets to the island. We'll go see the Milky Way! We leave tomorrow morning."
"Didn't you always want to stay in a villa with a pool? I reserved the biggest and best room they have. You'll love it..."
I laughed bitterly, feeling a deep sadness for myself.
"Fintan, I never said I wanted to stay in a villa with a pool. I can't even swim."
"The one who said that was Jolene, who was on the school swim team, right?"
Fintan froze, then started stammering nervously, unable to speak.
His phone screen lit up with an incoming video call.
The profile picture was Jolene.
He answered reflexively, and a jarring red filled the entire screen.
