7 Tristan

After 10 minutes I found the source of the smell. I went into sneak mode I wanted to surprise him. I slowly crept towards him, once he looked my way.

But he didn't see, smell or hear me and went back to what he was doing.

When I was close enough I took a big leap and jumped on top of him. Teck was terrified and turned around, ready to attack Mira. When he recognized her, the look in his eyes changed. He growled and tried to bite Mira on her hind leg, but she managed to dodge him. The wolves chased each other through the trees, Mira and Teck had a few wonderful hours together among the trees. They played hide and seek and tag and hunted a rabbit together and swam in the river to wash off the blood. By the time Laura returned, her body and mind were completely relaxed.

Tristan walked behind her and they both grabbed their clothes and quickly put them on, without fur it was still chilly outside. They arrived in time for dinner, the rest of the wolves who would eat in the pack house were already at the table. The Alpha, Luna, Beta and Omegas and their families ate there, as did some of the fighters. Tristan was one of the fighters who was allowed to eat in the pack house. There was a large kitchen where a full-time chef worked and a number of sous chefs. The kitchen could be used by anyone unless the Alpha had a large meeting. The kitchen used both freshly caught game and meat from the supermarket, a meal always consisted of several courses because wolves can eat well. In addition to meat, they also ate vegetables, rice and potatoes, but they rarely cooked vegetarian dishes. Because a wolf simply eats meat.

Tristan and Laura sat next to each other and put a delicious pasta salad on their plates, with lettuce, arugula, tomato, cucumber and large pieces of chicken. But Laura had barely swallowed the first bite when Tom had to make a comment about that afternoon. "Another potential Alpha mate scared off?!" Half the room laughed, Laura just shrugged her shoulders and took another big bite. "I heard that this one had quite something to offer, Joshua had seen him in the dressing room." continued Tom. "That's enough," said Tristan, "Let Laura eat first." "Oh, do you have to protect your girlfriend?" laughed Tom, but before he had finished speaking he was on his back on the ground. The rest were all laughing behind their hands at the surprised look on Tom's face. He had been so focused on Tristan that he didn't notice Laura lunging at him, throwing him onto his back. Before he could see what had happened, she was eating again.

Laura and Tristan had been friends since they were young, and after Laura's 16th birthday, both had looked anxiously at each other to see if they were each other's mate, but that was not the case. On the one hand, they were disappointed because they were good friends and would have done well as partners. On the other hand, they were also happy because it would have changed their entire friendship. Tristan was a little older than Laura and he had not yet found his mate.

Over the years their friendship had grown into more of a brother-sister relationship, they could bully each other, but if one of them had problems, the other was ready. At school there were regular rumors that they were in a relationship, in the beginning they sometimes argued against it, but over the years they had learned that there was no point.

Apart from Mira, Tristan and Teck were Laura's best friends, she could tell them everything.
