After saying these words, with heavy steps, I was about to walk out of the apartment door.
Melody's eyes widened in disbelief upon hearing this, and she shouted angrily at my back.
"Blaine, are you crazy? How dare you mention divorce to me!"
She probably never imagined in her life that I would have the guts to bring up divorce with her.
After all, over the years, no matter how coldly she treated me, or how contemptuously she scolded me, I had never expressed any thoughts of divorce.
In her heart, she believed I simply couldn't leave her.
But that was before.
I thought she loved me, and that the changes in her attitude towards me were just a natural part of married life.
I firmly believed that she would eventually have a change of heart.
So I made the greatest effort to tolerate and endure her behavior.
The result, however, was her increasingly worse treatment of me.
