Chapter 8: Hell.

"Quick! Hide, the elves are coming!"

People looked up at the sky in utter horror and despair. The sky was lit up as small palm-sized elves attacked anything with flesh on it.

Jill's mother stood up in horror. She turned around to run outside to look for her daughter. But she was suddenly stumbling onto the ground as her husband hit her in the face.

"Leave her! That wench is probably dead already..."

Jill's mother started sobbing silently. Meanwhile, Guts entered the town just in time to see a small kid attacked by three elves.

He vanished from the spot as he took his Dragon Slayer into his rough hands. Guts ran forward, the world in his eyes almost at a standstill from how fast he was going.

Swoosh!

The elves looked up, and the side of Dragon Slayer met them face to face. The three elves burst into a pool of blood as the force of the sword was too much for their tiny bodies.

"Look! It's that guy from yesterday!"

The people of the town looked out from their windows, and they exclaimed in surprise.

The kid looked up with a trembling body, and Guts smirked as he looked down at him. The boy was weak, but he could see hate in his eyes as he looked at the remains of the elves.

Swoosh!

Other elves surrounded Guts, and they smiled as their annoying voice filled Guts' ears. No wonder they looked like bugs.

"Play with us!"

"Come play!"

"Kid, go back inside the house"

The kid trembled as he got up from the floor. The elves smiled before they swopped forward the kid.

Boom!

Guts' sword smashed them into pulp before they could reach the kid. Above the town, a humanoid elf looked down. She had elf-like ears and a coiled stinger on her forehead.

Boom!

She pierced the sound barrier as she flew down. The sound of barrier-breaking was heard across the town, and Guts sensed a sharp amount of danger above him.

"Shit!"

Guts took Puck and threw him to the side before he put the flat side of Dragon Slayer above his head.

Boom!

The ground caved in, creating a crater big enough to fit a car inside. Rorinse, the apostle, bounced back as Guts pushed the sword up against her.

Splat*

Guts felt blood fill his mouth, and he spit it out before a grin made it onto his face. He looked up and saw Rosine floating in the sky, looking down on him.

"Good, you came to me. I don't have to search for you now!"

Guts left the crater with a jump. His sword was swung at Rosine, intending to slice her in half, but with a boom, she dodged to the side before smirking.

"You are strong for a human. But I am faster."

Rosine mocked Guts with a smirk on her face. The little elves around chuckled and started hurling insults at Guts.

"Slowpoke!"

"Slowy poke!"

"Loser!"

"Bitch!"

Puck who was thrown away by Guts, and the added shockwave from the explosion returned, he was fine for except some scratches on his skin.

"Guts! Are you going to let them talk like that about you?!"

Guts clicked his tongue in annoyance as the voice of all those kids transformed into elves by Rosine reached his ears.

"Don't worry. Those insults will turn to painful screams in a second."

Guts promised with a smirk, his dragon slayer rested in his hand comfortably, his grip tightening as he got ready.

Jill who finally arrived in the town ran towards Guts, hid her figure from the elves.

"Huh? Rosine?!"

Jill muttered as she saw Rosine floating in the sky above Guts. She is different, almost like a bee and a human fusion.

Boom!

Guts sprang up like a lion. His figure left a cloud of condensation as he broke the sound barrier. Guts reached a speed that the human eyes can't see anymore.

Boom!

Rosine opened her eyes wide in shock as she felt the hit. The flat side of Dragon Slayer hit her in the side of her chest. Rosine flew towards the ground like a shadow.

Boom!

Guts fell from the air, and his sword sliced down towards Rosine. Rosine looked up in fear as her chest was crushed by the attack, and before the sword could slice her in half, she flew away.

Her figure left behind multiple sonic booms as she increased her speed even higher, but Guts could still track her with his eyes.

Rosine flew away into the sky, leaving behind a trail of white gas. Guts gritted his teeth, and he pulled one of his knives out before he hurled it at full speed towards her.

Boom!

The knife flew towards Rosine. But a tiny elf flew in front of it, directing its path away from Rosine.

"Looks like I have to go after her now..."

Guts said as he turned to look at Puck. He picked him up in his palm and started walking towards the misty mountains.

"Puck. We are leaving."

Guts wiped the blood on the corner of his mouth, the shockwaves from Rosine attacking him at multiple times the speed of sound hurt his internal organs.

He is still fine, but it is the first time an apostle managed to harm him since taking over the body of Guts.

"Guts... Those elves... The-"

"Yes, I know that they are children. But I don't care since they are now demons."

Puck sighed before he followed Guts towards the mountains. Jill looked at Guts as he walked away. She wanted to follow him, but before she could, Guts suddenly spoke.

"Don't follow me. Your place is not near me. Stay here"

Guts looked back, and he stared at Jill for a few seconds before turning around and walking away. Jill felt her heart tighten, but she knew that Guts would not take her with him.

"Mr. Black Swordsman..."

Guts and Puck smiled as they walked away. Exiting the town, they made their way up the mountains, crossing a forest before they finally reached it, a haven-like place.

Flowers as far as the eyes can see, with glowing ponds of water, in the middle was a tree, standing tall with vibrant leaves swinging back and forth from the comfortable breeze.

"What a beautiful place! No wonder it is called the Misty Valley."

Puck smiled as he looked around. The sound of children could be heard all of a sudden. Puck and Guts looked down at the ground, where the same kids were sword fighting.

"She is not here currently... I need to make a distraction to bring her to me"

Guts looked around, and he unlocked his metal arm before he put some powder inside it. Puck watched in confusion as Guts walked towards the tree.

Boom!

A loud sound was made as a small burning ball smashed into the tree. It instantly caught on fire, along with the grass. Smoke bellowed as the small elves stopped playing.

Turning around, Guts grinned as he looked down at the tiny elves, barely the size of his palm.

"Welcome to Hell~"
