CH-5

The moon was high in the sky by the time we reached the camp.

The location for said camp was only known to Daiki; hence, we were following his lead.

Upon reaching the camp, my eyes bulged at the sheer scale of the area; it was as if my previous camp barely compared.

Huge and strong watchtowers surrounded the area; my eyes widened at the tall and sharp Shinobis watching us like a hawk.

The walls that covered the places were reinforced with earth-style jutsu, something that required the help of multiple ninjas...considering how big the camp was.

I couldn't see the end of it; however, what I could see were shinobi patrolling around the camp.

From the outside, you could barely hear anything; it almost seemed like the camp itself was empty.

The moment we reached the gate, the guard, perhaps a chunin, asked, "Identification and mission scroll.".

Daiki quickly took out the mission scroll while all of us presented our identification token.

It was something given to ninjas during wartime, as to be sure of their identity.

"Alright, you may go through." He opened the door for us, and we entered the camp.

The moment I did, the silence was gone, replaced by the chatter of shinobis. I could see huge fireballs in the training area; however, most of them weren't practicing. This camp was by far almost triple the size of my previous camp.

'There must be at least 8 jōnin here. '. While in the anime, Jonins could be called fodder, in the present time, they were nuclear options, ones that rendered the victor of the battlefield.

'This has to be a very important camp,' I thought.

I turned back, my gaze focusing on the slim guard that assured our entrance, "Where is the commander's tent, sir?"

"Right that way, you see that big barracks just beside that. " He pointed towards one of the larger buildings in the area.

'Good that it isn't that far.'

I thanked the guy and made my way to the camp, the three of my teammates following me.

Soon we were before the commander's tent.

It was huge, one that could facilitate at least twenty people inside.

For a tent, it was humongous.

"Reasons for entering?" Another guard there asked.

Daiki once again took out the mission scroll and showed it to him.

"Alright, come inside." His fierce posture now melting to a calm one.

The inside of the tent was the same, except with five jōnin hanging out. However, the difference among the Jonin's was stark.

The jonin at my previous camp were close to retiring and looked cold-hearted and sharp. Their bodies could be old; however, their instincts and experience barely betrayed them.

These, on the other hand, were quite young, at least by my standards; they would be around thirty years of age.

However, one among them stood out, a flock of yellow hair and a youthful face; he seemed just a few years older than me...nineteen perhaps.

He was busy chatting with a shinobi of the Nara clan.

I nudged Daiki and pointed us towards him.

He seemed nervous at the sight of the man, but soon stood up and made his way towards him.

I nudged him harder this time and whispered, "He is the leader of team 7, stupid, Minato-Namikaze; you read that yourself."

He soon stood at a distance of a meter from the esteemed jonin, seeing Daiki just there standing like a ghost.

The yellow flash turned his head towards him, "Yes?".

Yes, sir," " Daiki shouted out of nervousness and tried taking out the scroll; however, his hands betrayed him, and he fumbled... The slipped scroll barely left his hand before it was snatched by Minato.

'I could barely even see his hand, ' I thought incredulously at the superhuman act.

How fast was this guy...

"Oh, you have a mission with my team," he smiled at us and turned towards the Nara. "Shikaku, give me a few minutes; let me show them around."

The Nara nodded, and he motioned for us to follow him out of the tent.

The next few minutes were filled with explaining to us the nooks and crannies of this camp; it was essential for a ninja to know.

However, the most entertaining part of this was how my best friend was reacting.

I and Kuro both noticed the sheer excitement of Daiki.

'He is a fan, isn't he?' Kuro mouthed.

I silently nodded towards him.

Soon we reached a peaceful area of the camp. Aside from three tents, only trees and a small pond surrounded it, making it wonderful for training.

"Kakashi, Obito, Rin, come along. I want you all to meet some people," Minato spoke aloud towards the trees.

Soon, all three of them exited from the dense vegetation.

The first person to catch my eye was a short boy; his white spiky hair was eye-catching enough, and his mask just added more to the mystery.

A small sword was strapped to his back...courtesy of his father, while his face remained expressionless.

However, that couldn't be said for his teammates.

followed him was Uchiha Obtio, black spiky hair and goggles; he looked quite funny and in no way a ninja of any caliber.

'I used to be his fan when I watched the show.' My memories were hazy, but I just had a feeling that I liked this guy.

and finally the link of the team, Nohara Rin. A small girl with stripe tattoos on her face.

"Team 7, this is your support team; they will be helping you, so treat them fairly.". He continued, "Now you all meet and get to know each other; I will have to take my leave.".

With that in a flash, he was no longer beside us.

Obito was the first one to break the silence; he ran up close to me and shouted excitedly, "This is the first time I saw someone young with Kakashi's hair. Are you both related?".

"Yes, I am," I spoke calmly to the child, "And might you be?".

It seemed as if he was waiting for his introduction; he puffed up his chest and spoke, "Nice question, uncle; my name is Obito Uchiha, the rival of Kakashi and the future Hokage.".

Daiki laughed at that introduction, "That's a wonderful dream, future Hokage, but you have to work hard for it." He then turned towards me, and I caught a glint in his eyes.

'He only does that when he wants to prank me,' I thought while tensing my muscles.

He continued looking at Obito, "You see, Kagami also wants to become Hokage.".

'What?'

I have never said that.

"What, no way, then you are my rival too from now on. ". The boy had already fallen for Daiki's lies.

"Stupid Uchiha," Kakashi muttered from the side.

"Who are you calling stupid, idiot Kakashi?" he replied in fashion.

"I apologize for my dumb teammate; he is quite slow in the head." Kakashi looked towards me and said, his tone turning serious, "Our mission will start in two hours; I hope you all will be ready by then.".

It seemed he didn't want to further our conversation.

'We just got here after four hours of jumping around, and you are asking to go on a mission.'.

Daiki painfully smiled, "Sure then, we will be resting until then. Nice to meet you all.".

We soon departed into our respective tents.

'Ha, why is every day so exhausting in this place?'

I should get some sleep...

The moment I crashed on the bed, I was already asleep, the sword still strapped to my back.

After one and a half hours of sleeping, my body forced itself awake.

'I need to improve; I am still stuck at just two percent,' I thought while looking at the screen.

Thinking back on the next move of the Kata...

'Quick parry.'.

It had somewhat the same principles of the flow of chakra.

Theoretically, since I had learned quick slash, doing a quick parry should be easy.

However, I clearly didn't have any time.

'Half an hour, I should start getting ready.'

'It's just a search mission; I doubt I would be facing any ninjas ...'.
