Breaking Records

However, the moment that mysterious ability activated, almost swallowing the entire eighth floor, everything around suddenly freezes, coming to a standstill and—

The remaining cultivators found themselves outside the tower of fifth.

Those who came out were the survivors but Mu Shen is the one who had obtained so many invincible Techniques and also the one who passed the trial fairly, through so many life and death situations.

Qiu Puyu's eyes was cold and his gaze, unnerving. It can be considered as him totally failing in his quest. That quest could have easily gotten him a special seat within the Astral combat Academy.

Mu Shen meanwhile was feeling so miserable. If the duration of the trial within the tower of fifth had not come to an end, he would have died. There was no two ways about it.

Interstellar dimensional technique had almost everything pertaining reality and existence, meaning that once it decides to shatter whatever it comprises of, even Mu Shen would not be able to survive the outcome. It is just like— witnessing the shattering of existence while in the midst of the harrowing destruction.

Qiu Puyu walked towards Mu Shen and muttered softly that it was only Mu Shen who heard the whisper.

"Let the game begin!"

Mu Shen's eyes widened and they turned cold.

"Nah, I'd win Qiu. I always win. I've surpassed everyone, taken so many powerful techniques from each floors including the legendary one. I broke many records."

Mu Shen's breath was laboured while Qiu Puyu laughed.

"You broke many records? I want to know which was the record you've broken so far?"

Mu Shen's eyes flashed.

"My body was cut in half at the twelfth floor. I was killed there and I was also revived there."

Qiu Puyu's eyes immediately widened.

"What?" He sneered. "Bunch of lies. No one dies and comes back. There no such thing as reviving after death. Only reincarnation and that happens only after so many years must have passed."

Mu Shen spat out blood and stared down at Qiu Puyu.

"You can choose to believe it. You can also choose not to, I don't care."

The urge to attack Mu Shen was very evident in Qiu Puyu's blood, but Mu Shen is someone who had surpassed every other cultivators. The trial evaluation is judged by the floor in which the cultivators find themselves in.

If they ascends to floor eight, they get to go to the Astral combat Academy without special recognition.

But if they ascends to the thirteenth floor; they gain recognition, they get to go to the Astral Combat Academy and study with top experts and not noobs.

Others who stopped in the eighth floor passed, only with the option of going to the Astral Combat Academy.

Mu Shen however is different.

Two men suddenly appeared before Mu Shen, both of them radiating a very powerful aura that caused even the space around them to distort.

Mu Shen's current power did not hold a candle to the kind of power these men wield.

They stared at Mu Shen while smiling warmly.

Another set of powerhouses descended from the Upper realm and carried the surviving cultivators.

Xuan Qi, Qiu Puyu, Yuan Shi, Si Cheng, Ling Xuan, Zhao Ran, Wang Si, Jiu-Jitsu, Min Fei, and so on…

All of them were taken away in their numbers and the tower of fifth was suddenly reset, however before that has happened;

the being of pure death stared outside the iron bars that prevented it from coming in contact with the outside world and it's black- hole like eyes stared at Mu Shen's departing figure.

A chilling smile appearing on his face and then, the tower of fifth was reset making the being of pure death to disappear. Meaning that, it no longer had any memory of Mu Shen.

But that smile it had released was actually a figment of its forgotten memories.

"How did you pass the trial? There were obstacles as well as monsters laying in wait? How did you do it?"

A lean man stared at Mu Shen asking and Mu Shen stared back at the man.

He had heard that this man was the famed Chief Justice from the Interstellar supreme Court's Hall of Honor.

Only those who have benefitted mankind in some way or the other will have the right to see him but, Mu Shen did not exactly know why he was made to see the Chief Justice.

Mu Shen kept staring at him while he nervously kept fumbling with his shirt.

'F*ck, I've never been tongue-tied all my life.'

Mu Shen was feeling so frustrated.

Then, the chief justice's voice brought him back with a startling shout.

"Young man I'm talking to you."

Mu Shen gulped. His loud voice was accompanied by a terrifying pressure which Mu Shen could not defend against or withstand.

He needed to give an answer and his answer was:

"I pulled through every challenge with my ability to scheme against others and my own power. I do not mostly rely on it because, power doesn't help me... I only decide on one thing and that's— breaking records."

The Chief Justice was intrigued.

"What records exactly?"

Mu Shen slowly bowed.

"I'm sorry but those records are solely confidential and I do not wish to share. I hope that the Chief justice can just not pry into it."

The Chief justice contemplated for a while before subtly laughing it off.

"Young Man, you're quite interesting."
