Chapter 7.9 - Someone to Talk To

"I can wait." It was urgent for him, but it didn't seem as urgent as that discussion.

"Nonsense, me and Searina are done here." Glaring at the siren with blunt eyes, she did a forced curtsy and left with a scowl through a side door. "Come in!"

Shit…

Adam had forgotten everything he had prepared. His whole speech about going back to the surface to go alone to the Divyaparvata city was washed away by Calder's grave expression toward Searina.

"Is everything okay?" the young God asked, facing Calder's obvious frustration.

"Politics, my boy…"

Adam trembled. The way that wacky bearded man managed to call him the same way his mother and grandmother did was unbelievable. It was inconvenient but also comforting—it made him feel human.

"Must be hard to be a king." Walking into the glamorous study, Adam felt as if he was in a historical movie.
