41. Excited Samehada

"Boom!!!"

Terrifying explosions ravaged the battlefield, with black smoke and flames chasing after Fuguki Suikazan like relentless demons.

Feeling the continuous explosions behind him and the massive number of explosive tags propelled toward him by the blast shockwaves, Fuguki's face turned grim.

Who the hell is this Shimura Danzo?

That damned ANBU intelligence—they said this old man was scheming, ruthless, and only particularly skilled in Wind Release?

So far, his opponent had displayed mastery over Wind Release, Wood Release, impressive taijutsu, and a scary ninjutsu that controlled explosive tags!

And yet, they claimed he was "just proficient in Wind Release"?

What a joke!

Fuguki swore that if he made it back to Kirigakure alive, he'd launch a thorough purge of the ANBU for their incompetence.

But right now, his priority was to escape this nightmare.

As for the original goal of capturing Danzo alive? He might as well forget about that ridiculous plan.

With this decision made, Fuguki suddenly slowed down, forming hand signs in secret. Then, he abruptly turned around.

"Water Release: Water Wall!"

A towering wall of water surged up from the ground. The swarm of explosive tags, unable to stop in time, slammed into it all at once.

Seeing this, Danzo had no choice but to detonate the tags early, relying on the immense explosive force to blow apart the water wall.

Immediately after, Fuguki sent a water clone forward to cast the Water Prison Jutsu, locking the remaining explosive tags inside a giant water sphere.

Meanwhile, Fuguki's main body grabbed Samehada and sprinted at full speed toward the direction of the Kirigakure forces.

Truthfully, the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist had been far too reckless.

Due to their successful advances on the front lines—and the foolish command of Mitokado Homura—they had grown overconfident. Otherwise, they never would have charged this deeply into enemy territory.

After running a considerable distance, Fuguki glanced back to confirm there were no pursuers. Finally, he cursed aloud, "Damn you, Shimura Danzo! Next time, I'll make you regret it!"

He then muttered under his breath, "I wonder how those three idiots are doing..."

Fuguki's face was clouded with worry.

The Seven Ninja Swordsmen were a critical combat force for Kirigakure. Losing three members at once would surely lead to harsh reprimands and severe punishment when he returned.

As Fuguki was fretting over the situation, a peculiar sight caught his attention. Pieces of white paper began appearing on the branches ahead of him.

To his dismay, the paper gathered and morphed into the form of the one person he least wanted to see—Shimura Danzo.

"Revenge is best served fresh. Why don't we settle our grudge here and now, Mr. Fatty?"

Danzo's voice carried a faint hint of amusement. His gaze brimmed with confidence, as though victory was already within his grasp.

Fuguki's expression darkened.

"Shimura Danzo, do you really think you can defeat me?"

His eyes were filled with murderous intent as he threatened, "Even if you manage to win, you'll end up gravely injured. Wouldn't it be wiser to let me go?"

Danzo chuckled in response. "It seems you have great confidence in your own abilities."

Danzo did not deny Fuguki Suikazan's capabilities. At the very least, his naturally vast chakra reserves were undeniable—otherwise, it would be impossible for him to wield Samehada.

But Danzo's goal wasn't just to drive off the Seven Ninja Swordsmen. His objective was the complete collapse of the Kirigakure forces.

"What do you want?!"

Fuguki narrowed his eyes, locking his gaze on Danzo. His mind began to race. If Danzo hadn't attacked outright, it meant there was room for negotiation.

If he didn't absolutely have to, Fuguki wasn't eager to gamble his life against this old monster.

"The Kirigakure deployment map—specifically, the location of the ships transporting your troops."

Danzo finally revealed his true intentions.

If he could destroy all the vessels transporting troops and supplies for Kirigakure, their invasion of Konoha would be doomed.

"That's impossible! I will never betray my village!"

Fuguki rejected Danzo's demand without hesitation, his tone filled with anger.

Danzo, however, didn't seem offended. Instead, he regarded the fat warrior with an amused expression.

In the original timeline, this man had been killed by Kisame Hoshigaki for selling out Kirigakure's secrets.

Danzo didn't believe Fuguki's display of loyalty for a second.

His swift refusal was merely a sign that the stakes weren't high enough yet.

For someone like Fuguki—who valued his own life above all else—his survival was the ultimate bargaining chip.

"Well then, it seems we have nothing more to discuss."

Danzo raised the explosive blade in his hand, infusing its edge with Wind Release chakra. Without further delay, he launched a ferocious assault.

Realizing Danzo had no intention of continuing negotiations, Fuguki gritted his teeth and retaliated with all his strength. He needed to turn this fight to his advantage.

The two clashed in a fierce exchange of blows, their ninja blades colliding with incredible force.

The sheer power radiating from Fuguki's strikes left Danzo's arms trembling slightly.

There was no denying it—the brute strength of this "fat man" was immense!

But Fuguki's eyes gleamed with excitement as he noticed a fatal mistake Danzo had made.

The old man was channeling chakra along the surface of his blade to enhance its offensive power.

What Danzo didn't know—or perhaps had underestimated—was that Samehada had the ability to absorb chakra.

When their blades clashed heavily once again, Samehada finally revealed its true nature!

The bandages wrapped around the blade tore apart, exposing the weapon's real form—a strange, deep blue, spiny creature resembling a giant fish.

Danzo, however, remained unfazed.

As a transmigrator, he knew full well that Samehada's true form was a living entity and that it had a close connection with the Three-Tails, one of the tailed beasts.

With its true form unleashed, Samehada began voraciously devouring the Wind Release chakra surrounding Danzo's blade.

As the chakra was absorbed, Samehada grew noticeably stronger, aiding Fuguki in overpowering Danzo with relentless pressure.

Feeling the overwhelming power radiating from the blade's edge, Danzo didn't show any fear. Instead, he gave a knowing, meaningful smile.

Fuguki suddenly felt uneasy but couldn't pinpoint the source of his discomfort.

Moments later, an incredibly dark and malevolent energy erupted from Danzo. Crimson tailed beast chakra enveloped his blade.

What remained of the Eight-Tails' chakra within Danzo's body was unleashed all at once. It flowed through his explosive blade and into Samehada.

The moment Samehada tasted the Eight-Tails' chakra, it grew visibly excited, its entire body vibrating with pleasure.

Compared to the rich, potent chakra of the Eight-Tails, Fuguki's chakra was nothing more than bland leftovers.
