Not My Fault

Breakfast, as you can imagine, is not an enjoyable experience.

It's downright torture to sit with my packmates unable to

contain their curiosity at my father's sudden arrival. If I'd known he was coming, I'd have warned them and I'm sure they know it.

The fact that the kitchen is small doesn't help matters. As there wasn't enough space at the table for everyone, my father ordered his enforcers and Kael into the corner, despite Lucian's assurance they could sit in the lounge or he could find some more chairs.

Kael refused. Ivan completely ignored Lucian, and Helena offered a wan smile before following my father's order.

If that wasn't bad enough, there's been a weird tension between Orion and Helena since he arrived for breakfast and froze in the doorway. After a second, he strode in and took a seat that positioned him opposite her. The moment he did, she turned to face the wall.
