Anastasia heart race as the footsteps closer, then the figure of a man appeared from the ruins a man with blonde hair that seemed to catch the faint light and golden eyes giving him an almost ethereal appearance, wait golden eyes? but there are no such eyes in Valoria these eyes are the symbol of the royal family of Solara kigdom.
Suddenly something unexpected happen the man started to laugh like a madman. Anastasia couldn't grasp what is happening " Who.. who are you?" Anastasia muttered, her voice trembling despite her efforts to remain composed. The man's manic laughter grew louder, almost disturbing in its intensity, as he stopped just a few paces away from her.
"Ah, how delightful!" he said, wiping tears from his eyes, his laughter subsiding into wild, excited giggles." Before I introduce myself shouldn't I greet the last survivor of the Royal family of Valoria hnn Princess..?"
"I am Prince Kael of Solara." he said while looking down on the Princess. "Why are you here" Anastasia asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Oh, me? I am just following orders don't mind me " he said with smile still wide and unnerving.
"Ah! why did father gave me such bothersome task " he was mumbling to himself "Whose orders are you following ?" Anastasia asked while still not sure what is happening.
Kael looked at Anastasia, who was kneeling on the ground, his golden eyes fixed on her. His voice, cold and amused, broke the silence. "You ask too many questions. Still, I'll answer them all. After all, I am such a good prince."
He took a step forward, his smile widening as he spoke. "It was all part of my father's plan—King Erwin Sol Le Monte of Solara. You were merely a pawn, a tool to conquer the empire. Valoria was far too powerful for us to defeat in a direct confrontation. No, we needed a catalyst—someone like you. And so, here we are. Do you understand, Princess?"
"What do yo mean?" Anastasia's mind struggled to process his words. Her heart pounded in her chest, the weight of his revelation almost suffocating. "NO! It can't be I.. I was used to destroy my own kingdom? why..why me?"
Kael looked at her and said "You asked why? the answer is simple it was because of the flames you carry, I suppose you don't know but, those flames are the very flames that destroyed the empire thousands of year ago".
"wh..what do..." before she could complete what she was saying kael started to speak again"Ah I don't know what does flames are doing inside you. However, as far as I know the scarlet flames belong to the dragon in legends who destroy the Valoria who knows why" Kael's laughter returned, but it was colder now, "Why am I even explaining myself to you" he said while looking at the icy blue eyes, filled with a murderous intensity. They pierced through him like daggers, " interesting, However, I don't have enough time in my hands to continue our conversation, Princess." he said with poker face.
Kael's voice dropped to a chilling whisper, his golden eyes glowing with an unsettling intensity. "I suppose it's time to end your life, Anastasia. After all, only then will I truly be able to ascend to the crown. It's a mercy, really. Don't you think?" He took a step closer, his smile cold and mocking. "What would you do alone in a world where no one remembers you, Princess? No allies, no kingdom, no family. Just a forgotten name, lost in the ashes of your own destruction".
Before Anastasia could react, a group of soldiers emerged from the shadows, their presence surrounding her like a tightening noose. At the front of the group stood a man whose very aura radiated power and control. As soon as he appeared, Kael's expression shifted, and he stepped forward, bowing his head slightly with a twisted smile.
"I greet theSunof Solara," Kael said, his voice full of reverence, though it dripped with mockery. "It seems everything has come to fruition."
Anastasia's heart skipped a beat as the figure approached, and she realized with a sinking feeling who stood before her. The man was none other than Emperor Erwin, the ruler of Solara—the one behind it all. The true mastermind. The king of manipulation, whose plans had orchestrated the destruction of her world. His eyes were cold, calculating, and his mocking grin told her everything she needed to know.
"Ah, Princess Anastasia," Emperor Erwin said, his voice smooth like silk but laced with venom. "It's a shame you couldn't see the bigger picture. Your life was never meant to be yours to control."
Erwin stepped closer, his eyes scanning her with a cruel amusement. "You've fought valiantly, Princess," he said, his tone laced with disdain. "But this is where your story ends".
Before she could make a move, a pair of soldiers closed in from behind, grabbing her arms and holding her tightly. Her body tensed, but she refused to give them the satisfaction of seeing her struggle.
Just when she tried to use her power. However, to her surprise she was unable to use it, it was as though her mana channels were sealed. Then a sudden realisation pass through her "Don't tell me its them?".
As the sword passed through her, Anastasia's world seemed to shatter in slow motion. The sharp, biting pain surged through her chest, and for a moment, everything around her faded into a blur. The soldiers' grip on her loosened, her body trembling with the weight of the wound. She could feel the life draining from her as the darkness crept in at the edges of her vision.
Why?
Her mind was a whirlwind of confusion and despair. What had she done to deserve this? She never asked for this—never asked to be a pawn in their game, never wanted to be part of their cruel plans. All she ever wanted was a simple life, to live peacefully with her family, to understand what love was, to make friends who would care for her.
She tried to move, tried to scream, but the air was thick and suffocating. Her breath came in shallow gasps, her limbs growing heavy, her strength fading with each passing second. Don't tell me it's just going to end like this. Don't tell me I've been nothing more than a tool for them...
The darkness around her began to pull her under, but one thought kept spiraling in her mind. Why me?
She could feel her thoughts slipping away, the coldness of death beginning to claim her. Why did they have to do this? What did I ever do to them?
Her vision started to darken completely, and in that final moment, she felt the weight of the universe pressing down on her. But through the haze of pain and despair, a single thought broke through. She wasn't ready to let go. She wouldn't let her story end here—not like this.
Yet there was only darkness as far as she can see it was nothing.
