Flain first checked the shop to see if anything interesting had appeared.
[1x Inventory - 5000 EXP (skill)
1x Box with MP skill - 15000 EXP]
Flain looked at it, and Scan had disappeared even though he didn't buy it — that's pretty strange.
[Tip: Scan disappeared because it was limited.]
Flain read the tip. 'Next time the system could at least write that something is limited. I wasn't planning to buy Scan, but if something good was limited and I decided to buy it later, only to find it gone, that would piss me off.' Flain thought.
Flain felt a strong temptation to buy that spell, because an MP skill is basically a spell, and a spell means magic. But 15000 EXP was really a lot. In the end, Flain made his decision.
[Do you really want to buy Box with EN skill?]
[Yes | No]
Flain clicked Yes.
[-15000 EXP]
In Flain's hands, a dark blue box appeared, with a large button on it just like last time, which Flain pressed. The box opened, and a glow started to radiate from it.
[You opened the Box with MP skill]
[You've been given the skill: Fire Ball]
Flain read what he got — Fire Ball? That's something connected to fire, and fire is pretty dangerous. Flain opened his stats and clicked on [Fire Ball].
[Name: Fire Ball
Level: 1
Stage: 1
Type: Fire Spell
Consumption: 40 MP
Description: Basic fire spell. The user can conjure a fireball the size of a fist from their hand and launch it at an enemy. Fire Ball explodes upon contact with any object.
Next level: Fight, train with this skill or 50 EXP]
Flain read through it — he kind of liked it. Sure, it was quite expensive for him because it cost 40 MP, but if he had enough mana, it could be pretty useful. Flain leveled up, but he only had just over 12000 EXP left, so he could only afford one level.
[Level 15 -> Level 16]
[Strength increased by 1, agility increased by 1, vitality increased by 1, intelligence increased by 1]
[You have gained 1 bonus point]
Flain put the bonus point into intelligence because he wanted more mana.
[intelligence increased by 1]
"As you can see, I got another spell." Flain announced to Itai.
"Really? Show me which one." Itai replied.
Flain extended his hand toward the dungeon wall and was about to say Fire Ball, but Itai stopped him.
"Are you crazy? Not here! Do you want to damage the base?!" Itai shouted.
"I won't destroy anything, just watch." Flain mumbled. "Fire Ball." He muttered.
From his palm, a fireball emerged, which Flain fired at the wall. The spot where Flain fired exploded, leaving a crater in the wall. But within the crater, a new layer of stone began to form, and within moments, it was completely repaired.
"When I was fighting monsters here, I noticed the walls regenerate." Flain commented.
"Well, I didn't know that." Itai replied.
"Anyway, I'm not fully recovered yet, so while I regenerate, I'm going with Aran to hunt monsters in the dungeon. Once I'm fully recovered, I'm going to wipe out those annoying Black Lizards." Flain said with a grin.
Then Flain set out with Aran to kill monsters. Flain basically didn't fight at all — he just watched Aran battle, then finished off the monsters himself to gain the EXP, while Aran absorbed their souls.
Flain enjoyed the feeling of having a slave, but he knew he'd probably get bored of it soon and would start fighting himself, because he liked fighting. Aran fought quite well, though it was clear he was weaker than Flain.
Aran didn't die even once, so Flain still didn't know how much mana he would lose if Aran died. One particularly remarkable thing about Aran was how fast he regenerated, and how no blood flowed from his wounds. For example, if someone slashed his leg, it would be fully healed within a minute.
When Flain had fought him, Aran definitely didn't have such fast regeneration, and he bled like anyone else. This must be a consequence of Flain enslaving his soul.
Eventually, Flain got bored and they split up, each going off to kill monsters alone. This was faster for Flain anyway, since he could kill monsters much quicker on his own, which meant gaining EXP faster.
Once Flain had fully regenerated, he recalled Aran back into his soul. In total, Flain earned 6500 EXP and 7 evolution disks.
Flain then leveled up, since he had enough EXP.
[Level 16 -> Level 17]
[Strength increased by 1, agility increased by 1, vitality increased by 1, intelligence increased by 1]
[You have gained 1 bonus point]
This time, Flain put the bonus point into strength just because he felt like it.
[Strength increased by 1]
'Alright, let's go slaughter your friends.' Flain said to Aran.
'They aren't my friends if they're enemies of my king.' Aran replied, which made Flain smirk.
Then Flain pulled out the magic map and headed out of the cave. Once outside, he set off to the right — that was where Black Lizard territory lay.
When Flain saw the outline of the bone walls, he summoned Aran and, just to be safe, leveled up Fire Ball since the early levels of stage 1 skills were pretty cheap.
[Fire Ball lvl: 1 -> level 2]
[Fire Ball lvl: 2 -> level 3]
[Fire Ball lvl: 3 -> level 4]
[Fire Ball lvl: 4 -> level 5]
[Fire Ball lvl: 5 -> level 6]
Flain couldn't afford any more levels. "Are you ready?" Flain asked Aran.
"More than ever." Aran replied.
Then the two of them approached the gates. The walls were just as tall as the Green Lizards', but they covered a smaller area because the Black Lizard settlement was smaller than the Green Lizards'.
That was actually good, because when Flain knocked down the wall, it would cover a larger area. Though there were probably fewer Black Lizards here anyway.
There was also a gate entrance guarded by only two Black Lizards, so Flain sent Aran to take care of them. The lizards had already noticed them long ago, thanks to the sound of Flain's footsteps.
Flain then began hurling all his strength into knocking down the settlement, and the screams of Lizards being crushed echoed through the air.
