Flain vs Zehren

Zehren, who was watching the scene, started trembling with rage. "HOW DARE YOU DESTROY MY HOME AND MY PEOPLE!!!" he shouted at him.

"Aran, I'll fight the big one, you take care of the remaining commanders." Flain said to Aran.

Then Zehren's eyes locked onto Aran and widened in shock. "ARAN?! WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?!" he shouted at Aran.

"Fire Ball." Flain whispered, and a fireball shot from his hand straight into Zehren's head.

"YOU LITTLE WORM!" Zehren roared in fury, leaping from his throne and charging straight at Flain. Meanwhile, Aran went after the commanders.

In Zehren's hands was a massive black sword radiating a destructive aura.

Flain gripped the handles of his swords tightly, his eyes glowing with a dangerous purple gleam. Standing before him was Zehren — the Black Light of the Lizards, a towering figure three meters tall, his black scales glimmering, his glowing purple eyes locked onto Flain's, and in his hands, he held a colossal sword exuding pure destruction.

"I'LL TEAR YOU TO PIECES!" Zehren bellowed, launching forward with a speed unnatural for someone his size.

Flain managed to dodge just in time, Zehren's sword slicing through the air where he'd stood moments before. A shockwave explosion scattered the ruins of the bone walls around them. Flain bent backward to avoid it, but Zehren was already charging with another attack.

Flain gripped his swords tightly, and their blades met.

BANG!

Flain and Zehren were both instantly thrown backward by the sheer force of the clash.

[-50 HP]

"Hmh, you're strong, I'll give you that — but the punishment for what you've done will not be avoided." Zehren muttered.

"Swift Slash." Flain whispered.

Flain's swords began to shimmer, and he dashed toward Zehren with incredible speed. Flain unleashed his aggressive side and began slashing at Zehren like a man possessed.

Zehren managed to land a precise, powerful strike to Flain's chest, forcing Flain to leap back.

[-120 HP]

From a distance, Flain fired another Fire Ball, hitting Zehren square in the chest. He didn't have enough MP left for any more Fire Balls.

Zehren barely even slowed after being hit by the fireball — he only took a single step back. The black scales on his chest were slightly charred, but he showed no sign of pain.

Zehren charged at him again, his steps shaking the ground. Flain tried to dodge to the side, but Zehren predicted his movement and immediately adjusted his direction. The massive black sword whistled through the air, and Flain barely managed to raise his blades in time to block the strike.

Their swords clashed once more, both of them putting every ounce of strength into the struggle. Flain suddenly withdrew one of his swords from the clash and stabbed Zehren in the stomach. Zehren didn't hesitate — he sacrificed his defense and swung his sword hard into Flain's chest.

[-110 HP]

Flain suddenly grinned and struck a T-pose. "Tornado of Spines." he whispered.

His body suddenly began to spin, and sharp spines burst from his skin, tearing into Zehren's flesh.

Barely managing to jump back, Zehren's bloodied body trembled violently. "I CANNOT LOSE!" he shouted in rage.

Zehren's body started shaking even more, and with all his strength, he charged at Flain, unleashing a relentless series of attacks. Flain blocked or dodged many of them, but several still landed.

[-120 HP]

Suddenly, Zehren's body collapsed to its knees, and blood began pouring from his mouth.

Aran, who had already finished his fight, glanced at the two of them from a distance.

Flain just smirked and swung his sword at Zehren's head. Zehren tried to stand up, but his body wouldn't respond.

"Y-you… are…" He tried to focus, but his head had already been severed from his body.

[Eternal Master: Your master has become eternal. When you die, your master will retain their memories and power exactly as they were before your death.]

Flain's eyes widened as he read what he had received for completing the quest — this was a game changer. Now, he definitely had to tell Itai that he was immortal. Of course, he had no intention of revealing his true backstory.

"Go absorb the souls from all the corpses." Flain ordered Aran.

"I'm only missing Zehren." Aran replied.

"Zehren? You probably mean that king. Well, suit yourself." Flain said, but before Aran could start, Flain took something from Zehren — his sword.

The sword was black, around 1.5 meters long, and fairly wide. Flain had admired it during the fight and really wanted to use it himself. Unfortunately, Flain had no intention of giving up his dual style, and for now, the sword was too heavy for him to use effectively in dual style.

Flain decided to take it with him, and once he became strong enough to wield it efficiently, he would replace one of his current swords with it.

Meanwhile, a group of Black Lizards was on their way to report to Zehren that they had found the Green Lizards' settlement in ruins, with countless corpses.

However, when they arrived at their own settlement, horror spread across their faces. Their own settlement was just as devastated and littered with bodies as the Green Lizards' settlement.

Flain smirked when he noticed them — walking EXP. Even though Flain's HP was low, he seriously doubted any of them could even land a hit on him.

In a flash, Flain appeared among them and began slaughtering them. In moments, they were all dead.

"Go absorb their souls, and then both you and Itai can look forward to a surprise I'm going to tell you." Flain said.

Aran absorbed all their souls, and Flain recalled him. Flain then headed back to the base, where Itai was in the middle of summoning a Green Lizard.

"How's it going?" Flain asked.

"Well, I just got the last one in 23 tries." Itai replied.

"That's great. By the way, you'll be able to move into the valley soon. There are still a few groups of Black Lizards wandering around, so I need to clear them out first." Flain said.

"Alright, I'd love to get out of this stinking cave already. I mean, technically the valley is also a cave, but at least it pretends to be outdoors." Itai sighed.

Behind Flain, Aran's silhouette appeared. "Itai, stop summoning for a moment and listen carefully to what I'm about to say. I won't repeat it." Flain said...
