Grand entrance

The day is yet to be over. After the hectic day at the office with that shoot that was happening, it's finally time to attend the launch party for the brand new skincare line.

Finally, after all that hard work that was put into developing this skincare brand, we can finally catch a break.

There are so many influential figures here. I mean, that's to be expected when Xavier is also an influential figure with the company he built.

The guests seem to be having a very lovely time. I'm so relieved to see everyone enjoying themselves and appreciating the skincare products on display. I just know that Xavier is just as proud that everything is working out.

Speaking of, Xavier, who's beside me, looks so freaking handsome in the Armani suit. I can't help but steal glances at him as he converses with one of the guests.

"Is this the Kate?" The man in the tuxedo asks.

I come out of my trance and give him my full attention.

"Yes. I don't know what I'd do without her." Xavier smiles proudly at me.

It's moments like this that I continue falling deeply for him.

"I'm very flattered. Uhm, it's nice to meet you, Mr..."

"Owen is just fine." He winks at me.

I can't help but shift uncomfortably with how he's undressing me with his eyes.

"Owens, I'd behave myself if you still want my investment."

Mr Owens clears his throat and walks away in shame.

I can finally breathe.

"You okay?" He looks down at me.

"Yes, I'm fine..."

"Xavier, dear, come!" Mrs Banks excitedly beckons her son to go over there.

Xavier looks at me.

"I'll be fine." I assure him.

Xavier goes to his Mom. Mrs Banks looks so excited as she introduces him to someone, I wonder who it is.

Alongside his parents are Mr and Mrs Sinclair. The two are family friends from what I know.

From the 3 years that I've known Xavier, he seems to be shifting uncomfortably as he indulges in conversation with whoever it is.

Oh well, it's not my business. I decided to go and join my work friends.

"Did you see her?!" Linda asks me expectantly.

"See who?" I ask, confused as I take a sip of the white wine that I just took from the waiter.

"The lady who's supposedly our boss's fiancée!" Emily replies.
