Pathetic

I finally made my way into my penthouse after the tiring day I had.

I quickly freshen up and head to my home office to make sure that the paperwork is all ready for tomorrow. With Que's models working with us for the launch of our new skincare line, nothing should go wrong.

After making sure that every paperwork is in place as agreed, I turn off my computer. I remove my eye glasses and rub my eyes of exhaustion.

My phone vibrates, signalling an incoming notification. For a split second, I hesitate to pick up my phone.

I reply to Father, checking in with how he's also doing, then retreat to my bedroom for the much needed rest.

The next morning is one heck of a busy one. The models from Que Agency have just arrived, meaning that the photoshoot for our brand new skincare line will commence shortly.

I'm so relieved that things are going smoothly at Glamouri beauty. Otherwise, I wouldn't hear the end of it from Mother or Father. They are the literal epitome of 'everything has to be perfect'. Sometimes, it gets overwhelming to meet their high-end expectations.

"Sir, they've started the shoot." Kate informs me as she drops some files on my desk.

"Okay."

My eyes stay glued to the text I've just received. I try to calm my heartbeat that's beating erratically.

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine. I just need to be alone."

I stand with my back to Kate as I look at the view outside my glass wall. Thankfully, Kate left my office.

Why now, after all these years?!
