Loser

Nadia

Ruby and Miles came to join us in the pool after sorting things out between them.

"Which team are you gonna join?"

We were just finishing setting up the obstacle courses in the pool. The winning team gets to pie the losers' faces with whipped cream.

Me, Blakey, Lexi, and Roman are on one team. Ruby and Miles decided to join Faye, Carlton, and Zoey's team.

"You guys are going down."

I said.

"Don't speak too soon, babes."

Faye clapped back.

Blakey played rock-paper-scissors with Carlton and won. That meant we'd go first. I volunteered to go first for my team.

"Be careful."

Blakey said.

I nodded my head at him before getting into position. Zoey blew the whistle with Faye pressing the stop watch.

I quickly dived in the swimming pool, going through the obstacle courses as fast as I could. I made it back to my starting point, getting myself out of the water.

"1 minute and 50 seconds."

Faye announced.

"Okay."

"Good job."

Blakey high fived me.

Lexi and Roman also high fived me, saying I did good. I hope that was a good start for our team to win.

We didn't win!

We lost by 5 seconds, imagine.

"Maybe next time."

Faye taunted.

I pressed my lips tight, considering how I prepared to make fun of them if they lost.

"Whatever."

I continued sipping on my water.

"You're a sore loser, babes."

Zoey said.

"Hmph."

"Leave her alone."

Ruby said, chuckling.

"Wait, I just realised something."

Carlton said.

"What's that?"

Blakey asked.

"Miles has yet to sing for us."

Miles turned to glare at Carlton, who just laughed it off.

"Come on, don't glare at me. You had a deal."

"Yeah, I completely forgot about that."

I said, my mood improving.

Miles cleared his throat.

"Do I really have to sing?"

"Yes. That's what we agreed on."

Miles still seemed reluctant to sing a song as we agreed. He looked at Ruby for help.

"He'll do it on another day."

She held his hand and led him to the front door.

"Ruby, that's not fair."

I complained.

She didn't pay head to me but left with Miles.
