The next day, Kaia received so many glares as she she made her way to class. Left and right, the other kids pointed fingers at her, throwing looks of disapproval her way. Everyone found out about her assault on Nadia in the washroom.
Even her two best friends weren't happy with what she did the previous day. Kaia remained unfazed, but deep down, the stares and hushed whispers were way worse for her little heart.
Ms. Hillary made her entrance, standing in front of the class. "Quiet down, guys. I have great news for you. Mr Fitzgerald has been fired as of today."
The class erupted in joyful cheers. From this incident, it was found that Kaia was not the only victim. Boys and girls who were also taken advantage of came out to Ms. Hillary to testify against him, seeing that this was their chance to get rid of that perverted teacher.
"Don't worry, the Ministry of Education has promised to revoke Mr Fitzgerald of his teaching license. In the meantime, let's hope he reflects on his crimes during his 1 year probation."
Everyone was relieved to know that he got what he deserved. At least, with him being under probation, they wouldn't have to worry about Mr Fitzgerald taking advantage of others out there.
Ms. Hillary sighed when she saw Blake and Nadia's empty desks. The Banks were furious that something that bad happened to their only daughter at this school. At first, Ms. Hillary thought Nadia's parents were just being overly dramatic. But, the principal testified to have witnessed the bruises on Nadia's body.
No wonder her parents were threatening to sue Elitecrest High for sitting on their hands and allowing their daughter to be bullied to that extent.
"Unfortunately, it seems Nadia might stop coming."
The class went dead silent. Other students glared at Kaia, who sat at her desk, seeming unfazed that this was all her fault.
Kaia's thoughts went back to the previous day. She thought that with everyone busy with going back home, then it wouldn't be that hard to teach Nadia a lesson without worrying about anything.
How foolish I was. Kaia internally scolded herself for thinking like that.
The previous day, a few girls found Kaia sitting down on and assaulting Nadia. When they weren't able to get Kaia off Nadia, who was also trying to escape from her right grasp, they ran off to call for help. Kaia recalled how a huge crowd gathered in the washroom.
Blake was the one who rushed to the scene, pushing through the crowd of spectators. He was able to push Kaia off Nadia, who was then in tears. The hurtful glare Blake threw her away was still etched in Kaia's memory. Great, now he for sure hated her.
Regardless, Kaia fixed her posture and sat confidently at her desk, convincing herself that she wasn't wrong to take matters in her own hands. She had to stand up for herself.
"Kaia? Follow me to the principal's office." Ms. Hillary announced. "Don't think what you did would be overlooked just like that. Come with me for your disciplinary hearing."
Once more, the class erupted in joyful cheers, seeing that Kaia was getting what she deserved. This annoyed Kaia even more. How was no one on her side?
