Chapter 4: Family

Chapter 4: Family.

The next morning, Lily woke up feeling fresh and energetic. She had been thinking about Ethan's words the night before and wondering what his family would be like.

As she dressed, Lily couldn't shake the feeling of dread. She had never dealt with people like the Blackwood family before and wasn't sure what to expect.

When she went downstairs, Ethan was waiting for her in the dining room. "Good morning," he said with a smile. "I trust you had a good night's sleep?"

Lily nodded, grateful. "Yes, thank you".

As they ate breakfast, Ethan explained the day's plans. "We're heading to my family's house this afternoon," he said. "They'd like to meet you."

Lily felt a wave of anxiety. She wasn't sure if she was ready to meet the Blackwood family.

But Ethan seemed to sense her unease. "Don't worry, Lily," he said. "I'll be close to you." "Be yourself and everything will be fine."

Lily nodded, feeling determined. She was ready to face whatever awaited her.

When they arrived at Blackwood Family, Lily's eyes widened in surprise. The house was very large, with lush gardens and beautiful views of the countryside.

Ethan smiled, seeming to sense her surprise. "Welcome home, to my family," he said.

As they entered, Lily was greeted by a woman with a stern face and a cold expression. "Welcome, Lily," she said. "I'm Ethan's mother, Catherine."

Lily smiled, trying to hide her fear. "Nice to meet you, ma'am. "Blackwood," she said.

Catherine's expression didn't change, but Lily caught a hint of curiosity in her eyes. "Please call me Catherine," she said. "We're not here, officially."

As they entered the living room, Lily was introduced to the Blackwood family. Ethan's father, James, was there, a grumpy man with a stern expression. And there were Ethan's siblings, Alexandra and William, all looking at him with curiosity and suspicion.

Lily felt overwhelmed by the effort of remembering everyone's names and relationships. But Ethan was by her side, guiding her through the introductions and making sure she was comfortable.

As they sat down to lunch, Lily couldn't help but feel uneasy. The Blackwoods were a creepy family, and he wasn't sure if she was the right one for them. But as they began to eat, Lily began to feel more comfortable. The Blackwood family is fun and charming, with a sense of humor. And although they were hesitant at first, they seemed to warm up to her. As the afternoon wore on, Lily felt more and more comfortable. She was beginning to realize that the Blackwood family wasn't so different from her own. They have flaws and imperfections, but at the end of the day, they're only human.

As they prepared to leave, Catherine turned sharply to him. "Lily, I hope you understand that we don't just welcome you into our family," she said. "We also expect you to uphold the Blackwood's name."

Lily felt a surge of determination. She was ready to prove herself, to show the Blackwoods that she was worthy of their trust. "I understand, Catherine," she said. "And I promise to do my best."

Catherine describes herself as a gentle and smiling person. "That's nice to hear, Lily," she said. "Welcome to the family."

As they left the grounds, Lily felt a sense of awe. She had just had her first encounter with the Blackwoods, and she was beginning to feel like she belonged. But the moment she saw Ethan, she couldn't help but wonder what other challenges she would face.
